Most people grow pumpkins and then enjoy carving jack-o-lanterns or making delicious pies. Around here, we do things a little differently. We grate our pumpkin and add water, sugar, and yeast (and a couple other things).
We started some pumpkin wine. If we chose our pumpkins well, we’ll call it Madelyn’s Delight.
It will clear perfectly white and be a good dry table wine.
All those insides can’t go to waste.
I took them to the birds.
There might have been some left-over celery too.
I also had some pumpkins that we didn’t need to use, so I decided to treat the goats. I started with showing it to little Moose.
He didn’t get it, but when the big goats started checking it out, he finally got interested.
How many goats can eat from one pumpkin?
It looks like I needed to harvest some more.

that’s cute that everyone gets to have a treat. 🙂
We try to make sure everyone gets something, including the humans. 😉
Pretty wine! Glad to see everyone is sharing!
Well, they are more or less sharing. 🙂
Wow – pumpkin wine! That’s something I’ve never heard of. I like how no part of your pumpkins go to waste.
Well, to be fair, nobody eats the stem, but it will just go back into the soil. Pumpkin wine isn’t my favorite, but my nephews really like it.
How sweet to see the animals enjoying their treats!
They do love the pumpkin!
What kind of flavor does the wine have? Any hint of pumpkin?
If we choose the correct pumpkin, it doesn’t. If we get the wrong pumpkin, it tastes like raw pumpkin.
All is good!!!!!! LOL
Yes, it is!
Great shots! They’re all having a feast!
They really do enjoy the treats.
Lovely serie. They are having their own party!
They are a lot of party animals out there!
I love seeing everyone enjoying the pumpkins.
They had to wait for them this year until we were done with making wine. They usually get them right after Halloween. They don’t seem to mind the wait though.
I like how nothing seems to go to waste at your place!
I try. I know there’s still more I could do, but I do try.
Wonderful photos! Really great still life with pumpkin and glass of wine!
Thank you, Leovi. With the colder weather, it’s the time to bring the photography inside.
That duck eating the celery quacks me up! Have a wonder filled week!
Hahaha! They do love their greens.
