Garden Scenes

27 Aug

This summer I have really enjoyed my patio gardens and all the critters out there.

I have made a couple of changes.  I need to clean the fountain to get it going again, but the small one I removed.

Instead, I added a bird bath.  I like that much better.  I also added the dragon family.

I finally found someone who likes those big dried fruits in the bird seed–the honeybees!

There’s just so much that I love out here.

I was afraid the surprise lilies had been destroyed with the septic work, but they went crazy this year with all of the rain.

I still have a lot of birds out here too.

And I just adore my dog.

It really is my happy place.

One Shot Stories

24 Aug

I am so excited.  See what my beautiful spider has done.  She has an egg sac!

I’m also pretty proud of myself.  I managed to remove the storm door handle and get a new one and replace it all by myself.  That doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I am the least mechanical person ever.

My dog.  He’s such a good boy.  All of my cats love him.  I never know which one is going to be hanging out with him.

Tiger and Sky

This weekend has been all about getting caught up with things.  I hadn’t mowed the yard in over a week.  I think it was about ready to be cut and made into hay.  But I finally got it done.  I still need to sweep my sidewalk.

I have managed to get some more tomatoes out of my super weedy garden.  I canned another 25 pints.  I actually canned 28, but three didn’t seal for some reason, so I’ll re-process them or just use them.

My chickens are really happy with all of my canning.  They get a lot of tomatoes because so many of them are just not good.  It has been the worst year ever for the garden.

All summer, I’ve been hearing house wrens.  I can never seem to find them when I have my camera.  Well, I finally managed to find one.  Granted, I still didn’t have the right lens on my camera, but you can see it.  And the sparrow was posing nicely as usual.

Next summer, I need to do something with the herb garden.  It’s a bit out of control, and I don’t think I can do another year with it looking like this.

In a related story, there might have been another addition or so for the gardens.  I’m already planning on the gnomes area and the dragon area etc.

Soon, the post will get switched out for fall decor.
