This week the topics for Ashley’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday are: See, Sea, or C; chair; symmetry; blanket; giggle.
Let’s start with symmetry. If you drew a line down him, he’d be the same on each side.
The peacock has bilateral symmetry. Even more impressive, is the symmetry in the eyes on his tail.
He’s growing it back. I actually saw him dancing for the girls the other day.
Next up is blanket. Stella would make a perfect blanket on a cold winter’s night.
That might be cheating a bit, so here’s Bob lying on a blanket in the chair.
Wait, he’s not in the chair. He’s on the couch and Leo is on his blanket in the chair. You’ve got to love the life of a cat.
I got to see my first robin of the year. I think he’s lying. If you look at our weather forecast for this week with the return of cold winter temperatures, he’s lying.
He better think of taking off back south.
Here’s another little critter I got to see. Why doesn’t anyone want to pose for me today?
Finally giggle. When I showed my son an egg and said, “Look what Honey gave us,” he asked if that was what I was laughing hysterically about. That might be a bit more than a giggle, but the girl was just too funny. She was running back and forth through the kitchen and bathroom. She was up and down and in and out of the boxes she has. Finally, when she ran out of time to look for a good place to lay her egg, she just went to the safety of her roost (an upside down five gallon bucket). Instead of letting the egg drop to the floor, I caught it.
I thought that was worth a giggle or two.
I have to tell you, after hearing her grunt and seeing it that close and personal, I have a lot more appreciation for the work they go to laying those delicious eggs.
Sharing with Saturday’s Critters, Camera Critters, Scavenger Hunt Sunday, Bird d’Pot, Weekly Top Shot, and I Heart Macro.
That must have been pretty funny, watching her run around looking for a place to lay the golden egg! Thank goodness you figured out what she was up to! 🙂
Poor neurotic girl just didn’t know where to go. I had things already set out for her to feel safe. Guess I need to look at it again.
Now, that’s a really fresh egg!
Love seeing your sweet Stella and the cats. Oh, the hen and the peafowl too!
Haha! You’ll never see a fresher one!
oh, sweet honey! 🙂 too cute! bless her!
She certainly is an adventure!
Your Peacock is so very beautiful, even the girls so fluffed up in the picture. How come those 3 don’t have a name? 🙂 Honey looks absolutely proud of herself for laying that egg. Looks like lots of sun in your pictures, I hope your not part of that new snow out that direction.
We had the snow come through Thursday (hence the ice under the peafowl). Most of my birds don’t have names. I have a hard time telling them apart because they look so much alike, and I don’t spend enough time to tell them apart. Just a few have names.
Lots of fantastic shots ~ love animals napping and that peacock’s colors are dazzling ~ ^_^ Happy Weekend ~

Thanks, Carol. His colors were really beautiful in the sun today.
Yea for Honey! She is so cute! Love the peacock feathers, they are just gorgeous! Lovely series! Thank you for linking up to my Saturday’s Critter party. Have a happy weekend!
Thanks, Eileen! This is a milestone for Honey’s recovery.
Doesn’t it make you wonder about the first person who saw a chicken lay and egg and say, “Gee, I think that would taste delicious.”
Love all your animal photos….and yes, the life of a cat….no one can imprison them and no one controls them. They do what they please when they please.
There’s a lot of food things that I wonder who in their right mind came up with the idea…
I wouldn’t mind cuddling with Stella, she looks nice and fluffy. As for the egg – good catch!
Stella is a giant snuggle bunny. 🙂
Loving your entry today! Funny that I had just written about the possibility of Honey’s egg laying yesterday…! Good catch on your part! Eggs are such a mess to clean up! Love the bright colors of a peacock! They are some of my favorite colors.
I knew it would happen some time, but I didn’t know she was going to be such a neurotic hen!
a nice post, enjoyed me in the sunday morning…
Have a quiet sunday 🙂
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed your stop. Hope you have a great week!
Hi Theresa. over the whole post. the Peacock’s coloured feathers are amazing, all the animals are wonderful and I did giggle at the thought of your hen charging roun and round looking for a place to lay her egg. Good catching. Am sure that egg tasted great.
The peacock really is amazing with all the iridescent colors he has.
I’ve always enjoyed the saga…of HONEY!! She’s so precious.
As are your fur babies…sweet.
Your birds…awesome!!! I didn’t know that about the peacock!!!
If you like Honey, you should check out my goat Millie’s blog. She’s on a winter break, and we’re running The Adventures of Kitchen Chicken. It’s the diary of a buff cochin hen who thinks she’s been abducted by aliens. 😉 HERE is the first.
what a fun story and yes they have a lot of work to give us our delicious eggs. Yours is very fresh today, :)))
Never seen one fresher! Silly hen.
There is something relaxing about cats and dogs in deep sleep. The egg story is hilarious.
Nothing like snuggling in with the sleeping critters! The hen is a hoot!
Wow, just a series of joy with all of your photos. First I really liked that stunning peacock, but then how could you not adore Stella and then Bob….oh my just lovely!
Thanks, Karen. The animals are great to have around.
Peacock colours are fabulous,it’s no wonder peacock blue is noted as a specific shade.
The indoor furries certainly know how to find a soft and comfortable seat…………
Happy Sunday!
Thanks, Ruby. Hope you have a great week!
Wow, now that’s service! Your animals all look so cozy and happy.
Thanks. We’ve had a bit better weather, so they are enjoying it. I’m hoping she’s scoping out a place to lay her next egg before it’s about to arrive.
Great catch!!! I think I’ll take Bob and Honey!! I saw an Easter Towhee last week but we are getting snow this week…hmmmm?…:)JP
The weather has been so crazy this winter. I am hoping the robin I saw yesterday is a true sign of spring.
Amazing shots of animals!!!
Happy Sunday to you too an a good new week. Hugs!

Thanks. I do love photographing my critters. 🙂
Wonderful photos. I especially liked the detail of the peacock feather. Leo’s colors are really shown off by the blanket.
Thanks. I do think the peacock feathers were wonderful in that bright light.
What? No goats? I love the peacocks. You did a great job capturing the birds in the tree and in flight. I’d like to have such a Honey. I bet that was hilarious to watch. Great job with the photos and the writing.
Thanks. Honey is hilarious, but I will still be glad when she can go outside again. 🙂
You made me smile yet again. Love those cat`s 🙂
Thanks. They are characters.
Good catch! Now you get to eat it rather than clean it off the floor! Dogs are usually good at that, though.
I just don’t know what she’s going to do next time, and I’ll probably be at work for that one.
I love this series Teresa… wow catching the egg by hand, that is pretty amazing. Gorgeous peacock feather! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
Thanks for hosting, Laura! I really hope she chooses a better place to lay her egg next time (since I’ll probably be at work).
Aww, Stella is SO cute! Thank you for coming by sharing your creative photography on the Weekly Top Shot, #123!
Thanks, Madge! I love the way you challenge my skills to always improve.
It’s wonderful that Honey can make you laugh, that caring for all your animals is more than just a ton of work.
She is truly funny. If I didn’t laugh at the challenges of a kitchen chicken, I’d be in tears. I’d rather laugh. 🙂
Great shots for the scavenger hunt. enJOY meeting your animals by name. I’ve always named all my animals, even my fish, Terminator, named after the fact he would terminate anything added to his tank (and he wasn’t that kind of a fish).
All of my mammals are named. Some of the birds are, but I can’t tell them all apart.
