Mostly Wild Flowers

I found some wild flowers in the pasture during my walks this weekend.

I like the way the lamb’s ear was growing in the old stump.

I also found a little bug.

There was also a little toadstool.  Sadly, no morels this year.

I also found another columbine in the yard.

The geranium is from my house.  It was a mother’s day gift from two years ago (I think).

Spring Blossoms and a Surprise

I was worried about all my fruit trees with last week’s freeze warnings, but I’m more optimistic now.  The blossoms are just starting to open on the fruit trees. Here’s the cherry tree.

I actually have some peach blossoms this year, so I hope I get fruit from it again.  It’s been a couple of years.

The plum blossoms are a bit behind the other two.

Remember my poor apple tree that has been falling down for the last several years and the goats finally stripped the bark this spring.

Guess what!  It’s got leaves!

Not only does it have leaves, but it also has blossoms.

I don’t know how!

In the Soap Room

(Good)  I finally got to spend time in the soap room this weekend and actually use it!  I made both candles and soaps.

Making candles was no big deal.  Granted, I was out of practice, but it didn’t take long to get back in the swing of things.

I tried some new candles!

I really like how they turned out.

(Random)  Soap was another story.  Who knew that microwaves will interfere with your digital scales?  I didn’t.  I do have a batch of soap that I will have to personally test before I can sell it.  Just saying.

I also made a new kind of soap, smoky patchouli.

I am also getting the idea that my soap room might not be big enough.

(Lots of fun!)  For now, I’m enjoying it!
