I am so glad it’s Friday. This was our finals week at work, and that is always a crazy week.
And I now have one semester left to go before retirement!

I’m starting to think my houseplants are as confused as the outside ones. Usually, winter is a less active time for the house plants also, but my lime tree that was blooming like crazy is making limes and growing leaves.
It even has more blossoms come on.
The Thai Constellation Monstera finally got it’s leaf open. It’s still not standing up straight, but give it time. I just love the markings on this one.
My amaryllis bloom continues to grow. I’m so impressed I forced it to bloom. Now, I just need to get my timing down so that it actually blooms for Christmas. But I’ll take it for MLK as well.
By last Sunday night, two of the blooms were fully open. They are such beautiful flowers!
After just sitting there and not changing much at all for about two years, my Raven ZZ is getting a new shoot!
How exciting is that! I just love watching the new shoots go from bright green to black.
I also love my Prince of Orange Philodendron for the same reason, but it goes from bright orange to dark green. For some reason, every leaf comes out with a crinkle at the base. It really makes it hard for them to open. I occasionally have to help uncurl it.
This summer was weird because I struggled with some of my plants getting root rot. I’m not sure why, but I about lost the pothos my sister gave me. Actually, I did lose it, but I was smart enough to take a cutting and try rooting it before it was completely dead. That worked. So I potted it over the weekend.
I do enjoy my house plants during these winter months. They bring a lot of cheer to the room.
It’s hard to go out and spend time with the goats and take pictures when the weather is as bad as we’ve had the last few days.
So today, you get some of my plants. The Thanksgiving cactus is blooming. I’m still having a hard time keeping it healthy, so I’m starting to think its problem is a virus. There’s nothing I can do about that.
My Amaryllis that I put in the refrigerator to make it go dormant so I could try to force it to bloom for Christmas is looking awesome. Lots of leaves, but no flower. And then, I noticed it looks like it does have a flower starting to form. Maybe it will bloom for Valentine’s Day.
I need to do some work on some of them. My little jade plant has really taken off. It’s so top heavy that it needs a bigger pot. I also threw a couple of Easter cactus leaves in there that have grown, so I need to move them out as well.
I just repotted this succulent. I think I shared that one of the leaves I knocked off while repotting rooted. It’s growing like crazy, and I have another one that seems to want to start.
So I need to repot and put this new one in its own pot as well. I actually have a friend to whom I will gift it.
And I have several jars of plants that I started and now I need to pot them and give most of them away as well.
I’m also excited to see that the Thai Constellation Monstera is getting a new leaf! It is a much slower grower than the plain monstera.
Here are a couple of cats.
Because they are also all pretty. Hopefully, our weather will mellow out a bit and let me get outside to spend time with the goats and llamas before I have to go back to work.
