I thought I’d take a moment to show off some of the fun I’ve been having with my new camera, and since all the pictures on my blog are SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera), I thought I’d link to SOOC Sunday, hosted by Jan at Murrieta 356.
Of course, it’s always nice to have exciting and colorful subjects for photography, and when I look out my windows all I see are mud, dead grass and dormant trees. Pretty boring, but I decided to head through the pasture and see what I could find. Geese. They were enjoying the lack of snow and water caused by the melting.
I have only one Toulouse goose. She is one of my favorites.

I have quite a few African geese. They tend to be pretty good natured.

They would spend all day in the water.
I also have several heavy-bodied Embden geese. They are so beautiful with their white feathers and bright orange beaks.

We also have a few babies that have hatched. Some of them are obviously cross-breeds. Those wings are very powerful. You do not want to get hit by them!

It feels so good to stretch my wings in the sunshine.

Loving this sunshine!
I am always amazed at how photogenic the geese are. They are usually even willing to pose and give me good action shots.
