The goats like to be outside. But we have been really cold. There’s been a series of clippers come through with cold and snow and wind. Sunday morning, Dee and Ava were lulled out of the barn by the sunshine. It didn’t last because it was a deceptively cold sunshine.
I wasn’t sure they were even going to come out to eat grain when I did chores at the warmest part of the afternoon. But they did!
Fun little twist. When I shut the door of the Morton building as it was getting so cold, I caught the sparrow in there. So now I’m trying to make sure to keep my heated water buckets full enough that it can get a drink too.
Ah, winter chores. After the first half of January being pretty warm, we’re paying for it in the second half.
Seriously paying for it. But hopefully, the long cold stretch will help lower bacteria and parasite rates.
