The other morning, I saw two young deer at the bottom of my acreage. Luckily, even though I didn’t have my camera to take a picture, I saw them. I’ve also had several encounters with a bevy of pheasants who seem to roam between my ditch and the field across the road. Over the weekend, I glanced out my window and saw one of them in my yard. They are such gorgeous birds!
Later in the day, I looked out my window and had a “what the heck” moment.
I do not usually see squirrels on the tin roof of the barn. I have no idea what it was looking for in the gutter.
Even later in the day, I got a snap from my nephew. Then I got a call from my mom, so when I answered her call it was with, “Let me guess. You have a kitten.”
My nephew found this little one in his yard and rescued it from certain death with the rain and cold and how thin it is. I had to take my rabbit cages in for her to use. I tell you, those two rabbit cages I connected for Mama Phoenix all those years ago, have been very handy. They make a perfect kitten home.
Anyhow, my mom has the baby while it’s recovering and then I don’t know where it’s going.
But I know I am not getting another cat.
