If You’re Keeping Score

It’s been a couple of days since I gave an update on goats and breeding, so we’ve obviously had major happenings.

Joy and Pretzel already came back into heat

When I last updated you, I hadn’t seen Daisy in heat.  That’s the same.

When I started this post over the weekend, I still hadn’t seen Antigone in heat. That changed Sunday afternoon.  So I know she is not going to have a spring break baby.  I’ll have to put her back in with Kong.

Of course, Melba broke in and joined the bucks while she was in heat, but I still have another week or so to see if she settled.

In the latest exciting news, Dee was in heat.  Which should not be exciting, but when I came out in the morning, Ava was in the Morton building pen and the two bucks were not in the Morton building pen.

It’s always a fun morning when you have to wrestle stinky bucks before you go to work.  But I will say, overall, they were pretty good to get everyone back where they belong.

But, I checked my records, and Wanda, Ava, Moonshine, and Dee were all likely to have been in heat.  So I’ll be watching them.

And I’ll make sure none of them are bred.
