Friday’s Hunt v4.6

11 Aug

Welcome back to Friday’s Hunt. I want to thank everyone who joined in last week. I had a lot of fun visiting everyone who linked up. It’s very simple. Anyone can participate. The link opens at 7pm Central time and will close Sunday at 7pm, so you have plenty of time to enter. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to visit some of the other entries.

We are working on round four! It’s hard to believe. I did make a slight change. It will still go through the alphabet for the first prompt, but there are two other prompts that will change each week. As always, you can choose to do one or all. If you enjoy the week’s favorite, by all means continue to add that. If you didn’t participate this week but would like to next week the topics will be: Starts with G, candy, and latch. I will always keep a list of the items for the coming week in my sidebar at the top. I am crazy busy with working on the farm right now, but I will make sure to visit all participants. Without further ado, here’s my interpretations for the week.

Starts with F:  Fionn, Sam and Xerxes behind the fence standing in flowers.

Self (portrait):  I love my Maybeline.  I think she is the sweetest llama ever.

New: Just like their name implies, almost overnight the surprise lilies burst forth and gave me some new blooms.

Now it’s your turn!

Caroline’s Adventures in Pasture

8 Jun

Caroline is just a little goat.  She’s really too young to be going out to pasture, but she and her maa, Annie, insist that she goes out to pasture.

Caroline

It’s easy to lose a goat out there.  The grass is getting tall.  Here’s Myson for a little perspective.  I’m not going to lose him.

It’s hard to find the other goats though.

I’m really looking for a Caroline in a hay field.  I have to say that I am absolutely amazed.  Annie has managed to keep track of her and get her back to the barnyard every time.

I did snuggle with Caroline yesterday, though, and tell her if she ever got lost all she had to do was listen for my voice and answer. I’d come rescue her.  She must have taken me seriously because last night when I went to check, I saw she was with her mom, but I said something to another goat.  Caroline started answering me and came over.  As soon as I picked her up, she snuggled in for a nap.

I think the adventures in pasture had worn her out.

I do hope you’ll come back to join me for Friday’s Hunt.  I have this week’s items at the top of my side bar.

1st of the Month Scavenger Hunt

1 Mar

I can’t believe it’s the first of March.  Already.  I went for a walk up north, but it’s too early to see much progress.  We’ve still got cold temperatures, so there’s no way things are going to get done up here yet.

snowy fields

All the snow might look soft, but don’t believe it.

snow

That’s just the light dusting of snow from overnight.  Underneath, there’s a hard layer of icy stuff.

shadow

Here’s the top of the windmill because I always love my windmill.

I had to take a selfie for the scavenger hunt.  I hate selfies (might be a dreaded task even), but I did like the way the sun’s colors showed up on the hood. There’s also a lot of cat fur on there too.

Finally, a dreaded task.  I dread the cleanup.  Not really.  I dread the work it is to try and get the cleanup done.  It’s hard to get people to do things, even when they say it’s their job and you try to hire them.

It’s very frustrating because I don’t have the knowledge, skills, or tools to do it myself.  Hopefully, by next month, I’ll have some real progress to show.

Sharing with Scavenger Hunt Sunday where the topics are:  soft, early, top, selfie, and a dreaded task.  I’m also sharing with Shadow Shot Sunday.
