Good. Random. Fun. Weekend

1 May

The Good:  Sunshine!  After so many rainy days this week and rain all day yesterday and today, I finally saw a bit of sunshine this evening.

Of course, it’s supposed to warm up and be sunny all week when I’m at work.

At least the days are longer, so I can hopefully get some stuff done in the evenings.

The Random:  My sister stopped by today and gave me a cup and saucer.  I think it’s an adorable set.

The Fun:  Today, I made three batches of soap because I almost ran out over the weekend.  Now they just need to cure for three weeks.

I also made my first batch of insect repellent lotion bars.  I almost want bug season to be here so I can try it.

Almost.

I do hope you’ll consider coming back to join me for Friday’s Hunt.  The list for this week is at the top of my sidebar.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

31 Jan

The list for this week’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday is:  favorite, angled, curved, cropped, and texture.

Cropped:  Here are a couple of highly cropped images from the visitor I had yesterday morning.

I am glad he was just passing by because Llenny was nowhere to be seen.  Llazy lloafing llama.

Curved:  I’m also glad the geese were not out on the very same hill when the coyote went by because I’d prefer they stick around to be annoying and make me laugh rather than being a coyote’s lunch.  You’ll notice the curved lines from where we made hay off the pasture last fall.

Angled:  Speaking of hay, we’re half way through the winter, and you can tell I’ve used some hay from the barn.  Luckily, I have plenty left for the second half of the winter.

Texture and Favorite:  Myson was using the dangling, rusty hinge to entertain himself yesterday.

I’m not going to tell you whether the image is a favorite or Myson is a favorite.  You’ll just have to guess on that one.  Another guess…

If you pay close attention to my sidebar, you might be able to guess what’s coming in tomorrow’s post! 😉

I do hope you’ll come back on Friday to join me for Friday’s Hunt.  If you wish to participate, the items are at the top of my sidebar.

Little Flying Critters

19 Jul

I’m still trying to get caught up from being gone, but I’m pretty sure that will never happen, so I decided to go for a short walk this evening.  It’s hard to take many pictures right now because we still haven’t made hay yet.  I’m hoping that will happen this week.

I did find a couple of cooperative little critters.

Now if I could just get those monarchs to sit still a little longer.

It was fun playing in the golden light.

Tomorrow it’s back to trying to get caught up with the garden, garage, and making hay.  Oh, but it’s supposed to rain too.
