I Miss My Bird Feeders

12 Feb

I really do miss feeding the birds and seeing all the different ones I can attract.  That would be Sky’s fault since he thinks feeders are really just bait for him to catch the birds.

They’ll have to just live out in the barn.

Maybe some day the dog will grow up and I can have my feeders in the yard again.  Yeah, right…

A Wintery Blast

25 Feb

Thursday evening saw rain and thunderstorms overnight.  By Friday afternoon, it had turned colder and was snowing by the time I got home.  Ironically, I saw my first robin of the year.

I tried to take a couple of pictures of the trees glistening in the morning sun, but I didn’t feel like walking in the brutal wind to get a good shot, so I am stuck with this one little frozen drop.

I did also find a few icicles on the fence (Blaze behind).

Sky wasn’t too sure about coming out with me.

Bob was sitting in a corner out of the wind and enjoying the sun.

Hercules also found a nice spot to bask in the sun with the door shielding him from the wind.

This sudden change was quite a shock to our systems.

Roller Coaster Weather

4 Feb

We’re still on our roller coaster weather pattern.  We had beautiful weather last weekend when Pistol had her kids.  Luckily she had them before Tuesday’s winter storm that caused a snow day from work.

It was beautiful.

In the midst of our Groundhog Day snow day, I saw a robin!  What the heck!

It was so warm that most of our snow melted resulting in icicles hanging from the roof.

Yesterday, we had sunshine, but it was colder.

The snow on the top froze and made ice, but it was still warm underneath.

At least I didn’t sink up to my knees in mud.  The goats got to eat outside on a clean bed of snow.

Now were supposed to warm up to the forties again this weekend, so we’ll be back to muddy, and then we get another blast of cold by next Tuesday.

I hope you’ll come back tomorrow to join me for Friday’s Hunt.  If you want to, the items for tomorrow are in the top of my sidebar.

I’m sharing today at Good Fences and Skywatch Friday.
