Published and a Giveaway

My novel has been published and just in time for Alphabe-Thursday’s letter P.  How serendipitous!  I can’t tell you how exciting it was to come home and see that box hanging from my front gate.  Opening it and enjoying the new book smell knowing it was my book was just amazing!

Novel

Of course, the real work is just beginning for me.  I must say, I’ve been very busy with author things, setting up web pages and posting and becoming a Goodreads author.  It’s another full time job!  This is all new to me, but I’m really enjoying it.  I’ve been embracing technology to try and let people know about the book, and I’m asking for your help in spreading the word.  Don’t worry, I will be giving away a copy of my novel (or maybe two) to reward your efforts!

You can get up to five entries!

You have until March 14th 12:00am central daylight savings time to get all this done and leave your comments.  I’ll announce the winner in that evening’s blog post.

Thanks so much for helping me spread the word!  It’s been a long journey becoming an author.  I always knew I liked writing and dreamed of being an author, but it’s not very practical even though I have a bachelor’s degree in English.  I was busy trying to make a living and raise a kid which didn’t leave time for writing.  When I started blogging, it really was with the intent of getting me back into the habit of writing and moving towards being a real author.  I’m officially hooked on blogging, but I’m also enjoying being an author.  This officially makes me a bl-author (Thanks Nancy!).

Thanks for allowing me this time out from blogging about the farm.  Tomorrow, I’ll return to my regular farm posts, and I promise I’ll soon be sharing pictures of new kids.

March Mamas

I think I’ve decided Maggie and Penny aren’t going to have oopsie babies in the first part of March.  That’s a relief.  Hopefully they will have babies in June.

If you remember, back in October I had several girls with Boeris and one with Fionn.  After feeling them for udders, I’ve figured out who’s going to have March babies.  Joe and Meg didn’t settle, and I wasn’t sure about Coffee.  Now I’ve decided Coffee is not bred.  That means she isn’t going to have a baby this year.

First due is Bambi on March 22.  She’s starting to make quite an udder already.

After Bambi, Pam and Litha are both due on March 27th.

Fionn’s only spring break baby(ies) is also due on March 27th.  That might be a busy day!  Blaze isn’t looking too big, so she might only have one.

Mother and Daughter (Pebbles and Sugar) are the last two due over spring break.  Pebbles is due the 28th, and Sugar is due the 30th.

Lemon Tree

Some time last winter I bought a couple of lemons to make something.  Let’s face it, I probably really bought them for a photography experiment.

Anyhow, as I was playing with them, I found a seed or two, and I planted them.

One sprouted with a sickly yellow cotyledon that soon died.  Then I kind of forgot about the other one.  One day I noticed a lovely green leaf.

Now it’s been growing for about a year, and it’s got several big leaves.

So how long before I have a huge lemon tree taking over my house?

I really didn’t expect it to grow.
