Still Raining

28 Jun

I believe in the last two weeks we’ve had about fifteen inches of rain.  We really have gone from one extreme to the other.

Now we really need to get a break from the rain.  There’s mud everywhere!

The crops are in desperate need of a break.

It’s hard to enjoy the flowers and pick cherries when it’s constantly raining.

But not back to drought conditions please.

A Cooler Weekend

3 Jun

Sidney interrupted my post about our cooler weekend weather.  I woke up to rain on my windows Saturday morning, and we got about a half an inch, and our temperatures are more seasonable.

Although, these rain pictures are from the pop-up showers last week that mostly went all around my farm and never gave me any.

I’m very grateful for the rain yesterday as my newly emerged corn needed a good drink.  I do believe my poor Bob cat got caught in the rain.  I don’t know why he didn’t go into the barn or one of the other buildings, but he was pretty wet when he came in.

Bob

Of course, as soon as he finished his breakfast, it was time to nap in my bed.  Gee, thanks, Bob.

I decided to try and take a couple of pictures of the peonies in the yard.  They just opened, and most of them are already past their prime due to the heat, but the ones under the plum tree were still pretty.

I have decided it is not easy to take pictures when your photography assistant is a German shepherd.

He’s almost worse help than the goats.

Happy Mother’s Day

Here are some Mother’s Day flowers.

I love the old-fashioned bleeding hearts.

From all the kids (big and small) here at Eden Hills,
