Friday saw a prediction of possibly severe weather with a system that has covered much of the midwest. I am so grateful that my school let us out two hours early–it gave kids an opportunity to get home. It gave me a chance to get home and make sure all the kids were safely off pasture.
I shut my wimpy Antigone and Perdita in the garage. Then I got really lucky. I had storms on pretty much every side of me, but they seemed to split and spare my farm and small town.
It did finally form another line to the west that was going to hit the farm. I went out and watched it come in, making sure all the kids were near buildings.
It became a clear wall cloud
Then the winds hit, and the rain came. There was a little bit of hail, but nothing too big.
Shortly after the line passed my farm, it grew more severe.
I am so grateful the severe weather missed me, and my heart goes out to those who were not so lucky.
Oh, my! I’m thankful too, that your farm wasn’t hit by the worst weather!!
We were very lucky to have the severe stuff miss us. There was quite a bit of damage in eastern Iowa.
We had unrelenting hugh winds for 48 hours, they finally stopped around noon today, thank God…I was put on it four times during the night with the little dog. I’m so glad the storms missed you.
Glad you are safe.
So glad you and the farm are ok. The stories from those tornadoes are heartbreaking.
It is heart breaking to see all the damage and loss of life.
So pleased you and the kids were spared.
We were very lucky.
Hello,
So glad you all are safe. I am glad the worse part of the storm missed you. We have a thunderstorm and some high wind gust yesterday. Take care, have a wonderful week!
