This week, my nephew did the first cutting of hay from the waterway.
With the warm dry weather we’ve had, it didn’t take long to dry.
The next day, he raked it into windrows.
I love the way it looks when it’s in windrows and ready to bale.
Of course, I like the look of all those round bales out there too.
I’m not sure Maybeline shares my thoughts on that.

The hay looks great! I’m with you on the way it looks in the windrows. It’s beautiful!
I can remember when I was a young girl, my uncle and dad were stacking chopped hay. I was the one who had to climb on top, and walk around to pack it down. They used an apparatus of wire and slats to shape it, and they had to pull it up as the stack got taller. That was quite an experience for me.
