Adjusting the Herd

25 Jun

I know you’re shocked to hear that I moved goats around again.  Actually, I just put the boys back on their front pasture.

That made them very happy.

I did have to intervene with Ava and her kids.  Three babies are hard to raise.  She did it last year, and she’s trying this year, but one girl was looking pretty thin.  Of course, skinny little Sophia is the only one of the three I couldn’t get to take a bottle.

That means I decided to take Simon and Heidi and send them off to stay with Aunt Connie. She will keep them and bottle feed them for me while I’m on vacation. Then they can come home (or stay with Aunt Connie a bit longer if she wants.  At any rate, it’s the best I could come up with for the four of them.

Everyone else is back in one giant group.

It looks like a mob in there now.

I was a little worried about Flower getting back with everyone and not getting picked on, but she’s doing well.

Flower is even holding her own with the herd!

I hope this is how everyone stays until it’s time to breed for next year.
