Well, I didn’t get my fence done on Sunday because it was horrible cold and windy and I’m old and wimpy. But, I figured it wasn’t a big deal since I was going to let everyone stay on the front pasture. I spent the week slowly making progress.
I had to clear all the nasty cornstalks and cow manure and earth worms off the fence.
Then I got the metal posts set back up, but I could not do the wooden ones myself, so my nephew helped me when he had his backhoe out here for Coral.
I still have a bit left to do where the water enters the farm from the north, but I think it will be okay for now. It was just too muddy for me to get in there and not sink up to my knees and get stuck.
By Friday morning, I had the boys back on their front pasture.
I let the rest of the herd back on the front half of the Back Forty.
I’m not sure Odie is too happy about the gates to the back side being shut.
Everyone else was happy.
Well, except Cody. He ended up stranded in the barnyard, but he’ll figure it out.
In the meantime, he decided to hang out with Flower and the two moms-in-waiting.
Life is good again.
It’s amazing isn’t it, how much bad weather there is around the country!
I’m glad you were able to get some of the fence work done. What a big job! I hope the rest won’t be too difficult. It does look bad, though.
Take care!
You were being practical, not wimpy.
You are so kind.
