Mary, Mary

4 May

When Mary was little, I used to chant, “Mary, Mary quite contrary.”  I did decide I maybe shouldn’t do that.

By the time I changed it to “Mary, Mary, Miss Extraordinary,” she was already truly contrary.

Mary van de Yell

In keeping with that pattern, her time in the Love Shack came to an end when she beat the gate to pieces.

She is back out in pasture.

Instead I shut her kids in the Love Shack with the other kids I needed to keep away from their moms.

Hook, John, Toodles, Bubbles, Smee (behind) and Michael (far back)

Of course, she’s still being contrary and fighting with Cinnamon through the fence.

That girl!

My mom’s name was Mary. She was both extraordinary and contrary.
