The Kidding Switch

4 Mar

Of course my plan for kidding means I had to switch goats around.  It started on Friday night with moving my old ladies from the north paddock to the Love Shack.

Lily in the doorway; Antigone and Pistol outside

Antigone managed to get out the next morning and have fun running around.  At least she’s easy to put back where she belongs.  Cupid was a good girl; she stayed with Lily.

Then I bribed my bucks to leave their pen and go through the garage.

Tony, Anubis and Pluto (after I had them confined to a smaller section)

Aurora decided to check things out, which immediately made Tony start thinking about how much he loved her; that made her decide she wanted nothing to do with him and she quickly went back to where she had been.  Llama llove is so confusing.

Of course, the move was made more difficult because the small walk-through door was frozen shut, so I had to open the big garage door.

Fionn (after the move north)

But we made it!  They all three followed the corn up to where they belonged.  Corn is an amazing motivator!

Xerxes

In typical fashion, Zeus got out, so I had to chip a bunch of ice and snow away from the gate so I could get it more fully closed.  I am pretty sure that problem is resolved.  That goodness.

I was a bit worried about him going in with the big bucks, but they were all in there the first night.
