Lily’s black streak seem to be spreading some more.

I wonder how much more it’s going to spread.  I still am just in amazement over all the different things the lack of copper causes.

I actually love how it’s spreading. Do you give her a mineral block to lick?? I give my goats loose minerals in a bucket that hangs on a wall in the barn. They love it. They also have a bucket with backing soda in it that they can eat if they start bloating.

The color is coming back because she was given a copper bolus after my herd was diagnosed as deficient. I do have to be careful though because they can get too much copper too.

That’s really impressive! I suppose that in order to find out if they’re getting too much copper, you’d have to do a blood test….?

The blood test would reflect their current diet, but not the level in their liver. That is where the problem would be-too much stored in the liver causing toxicity.

Hello, the black line is pretty, but not the reason for it. I hope the copper problem is worked out and all the goats will be ok. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
