Blooming

11 Aug

I’ve had too many yard goats and dogs over the years for my flower beds to, well, exist anymore.  I have two mallow plants growing, and they are considered invasive in some places.

I like their bright color, and they will bloom late into the fall.  It takes a hard frost to stop them.

I still have a lot of surprise lilies.

They’re another favorite.

Even if my okra didn’t produce yummy pods to eat, the flowers are pretty.

I have one or two squash vines that have so far escaped death by squash vine borer.

That’s about all that’s blooming around here.

Our tomato and cantaloupe plants are not producing one thing. Blooms but no fruit.

Bummer. It seems to have been a rough gardening year a lot of places.
