30 Apr

I said good-bye to my dear, sweet Sallie Allie Blackboer today.

I will never forget when she was a baby and I was still taking pictures with film and I got back a print that had these orbs covering her.  She was standing over her aunt and cousin’s graves.  Her mom is on the left, and her cousin Kizzy is on the right.  I always believed she had guardian angels with her.

Annie, Sallie and Kizzy

She was always a devoted maa.

Sallie and daughter, Polka Sallie Annie

Farewell, Sallie Allie.

Oh no! Not Sallie! That is so sad. She was one of my favourites (don’t tell the others!) It never gets any easier.

It doesn’t. And they all keep getting older. The vet checked Vixen while he was here and thought spring and grass might help her condition improve. I do hope so. (He also chuckled and the wimpy Xerxes racing across the paddock while Fionn had his hoof trimmed.)

So sad for you. Sallie looks like a very kind ‘person’. I’m sure she had a wonderful life with you. 🤗
