I Am A Rock

17 May

My farm is my island.  I love it and my animal family.  How dearly I would love to retreat from society and stay safe within it’s walls.

Llenny

Llenny

I have my books
and my poetry to protect me;I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.

This post is brought to you by my amazing pasture rocks (with special guest appearance by Llenny), Song-ography, and Simon and Garfunkel’s I Am A Rock.  I’m also sharing with Black and White Wednesday.

I do hope you’ll consider coming back to join me for Friday’s Hunt.  The items for this week are at the top of my sidebar.

    It’s lovely, picture and words.

I grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, and this was always one of my favorites.

Lovely photo and wonderful verse, I used to listen to this song a lot. I live on an island and feel like I am sometimes like the words in the verse.

I love this B&W shot of Llemy and I found the words sad.

    • Teresa May 18, 2016 at 12:45 pm #

It definitely does have a sad quality to it, but it also has the comfort of being a safe place.

    Handsome Llenny!

    • Teresa May 18, 2016 at 12:46 pm #

I know. He really is a handsome guy.

Llenny is a darling ! I wished he would live with me but I think he takes too much space ! I have to content myself with my 4 cats !

    • Teresa May 18, 2016 at 12:46 pm #

He does like his space. He came from a very small area, and I think he feels like he’s died and gone to llama heaven with my Back Forty as his own.

That’s a great photo of Llenny! He is such a handsome fellow!

    • Teresa May 18, 2016 at 1:22 pm #

He really is. He’s a funny guy too.

I know that feeling. I love that song, too. In fact, that’s one I downloaded while looking after my grandchildren. That and Sounds of Silence. They were just what I needed to hear that morning.

I love Sounds of Silence too! I grew up listening to Simon and Garfunkel, so they are still favorites.

Llenny looks great! I like that song too.

Thanks, Linda. He’s definitely ready for a shearing, but I think he looks quite handsome with his longer fleece.
