Kidding Update

23 Mar

We’ve had four more girls have kids.  Cookie started things off with twin girls.

Gidget then gave me my first Sam baby!  He’s huge.  Other than daddy’s wattles, he’s all Grandpa Boeris.  He’s bigger than Blaze’s kids who are now 9 days old.

Next was Cinnamon.  It was a ridiculously hard birth for one tiny little girl, but everything turned out fine.

Finally, Clover had twins (a boy and a girl) during the night.

I’m so grateful to my mom and sister for being here to help me.

If you want to join me for Friday’s Hunt, the items for this week are at the top of my side bar.

Today, I’m joining Jenny Matlock’s Warm Heart Wednesday.

Love the pictures of all the kids. They are so sweet….but they do grow up, don’t they?

    • Teresa March 24, 2016 at 2:19 pm #

They do, but they will get sold when they get bigger.

That is one bunch of beautiful babies! I can hardly wait to see more pictures of them! Was this the last of the March babies?

These babies are just too cute! How can someone not believe in God when such beautiful miracles are happening every day! They are so precious Teresa, I wish I lived closer to come see them in person. Keep up the great work!

They are all so cute! They are the most fun!! (after the birthing that is)….
Let me tell you what has happened here..we have this little doe that we are bottle raising due to bag situations with her mom. Well Monday we fed them some raisins at the gate where she usually takes her bottle. Monday night when it came bottle feeding time she would not have her bottle and she want take it now either. I have gotten about six ounces down her since Monday. Do you think she is wanting raisins?? She loves them!!!! She is two months old. Ever had a situation like this?

I would ask a vet. I’m not sure about feeding dried fruits to ruminants.

      • daystarhomestead March 24, 2016 at 11:52 am #

I read in the goat journal if you would feed them raisins the would get your smell and not be shy…..

      • daystarhomestead March 24, 2016 at 11:52 am #

Do you think she still needs milk?

      • Teresa March 24, 2016 at 2:21 pm #

I really don’t have enough information to say. They can be weaned once their rumens are fully functional. They need to be solidly eating roughage before that can happen.

She is eating feed very good and since I talked to you have gotten her to drink another bottle!!

More off-the-chart cuteness! Sorry to hear Cinnamon had a hard time of it.

They are well now. You’d never know she had a rough start.
