Goats in the Hood

5 Mar

I once again have yard goats.  My four girls closest to kidding (at least I think they are all the closest) are in the yard so it’s easier for my mom to check them while I’m at work.

I’m pretty sure my apple tree is not going to give me fruit this year. Or ever again.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t going to survive this round of yard goats.

I have my two yearling bucks in the Love Shack.  It looks like they are just standing around smiling at how happy they are to be back together.  They are pretty good buds.

Out in the front pasture, Pistol’s boys are exploring more of the neighborhood.  They go out with her while she’s eating.

Muffin doesn’t get out much.

She prefers to stay up on the hill and call barn service for some hay.

I’m not sure she’ll ever rejoin the herd, but she seems content.

There’s still time to link up to Friday’s Hunt if you want to join me.  I always keep the week’s items at the top of my side bar.

Today I’m sharing with Scavenger Hunt Sunday (items in parenthesis), Camera Critters, Saturday’s Critters, and Fun Friday Favorites.

    Great photos!
Xerxes and Sam do look happy!

Well, Xerxes doesn’t have Helen trying to kill him now, and Sam is always happy. 🙂

I have not seen you mention Bud in a while. Is he still at the farm?

    • Teresa March 5, 2016 at 4:19 pm #

Bud is doing well! We’re just at that time of year the I don’t give them much attention if they aren’t about to give birth. LOL I did give him a kiss and tell him his fans were asking about him. I’ll try to get him in a post this week.

I believe it’s called “pondering how I can cause trouble.”

cuties!!! it looks like someone enjoyed the apple tree, huh??!!

    • Teresa March 5, 2016 at 4:17 pm #

They have all four been devouring it. I’m hoping they’ll leave the cherry, peach and plum alone as long as they get the apple.

Hello, what a great post. I loved all these images and your cute goats. I like the Love Shack photo and Pistol and the kids. Sorry about the apple tree! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

I’ve been thinking every year is its last for the last four or five. It was already lying on its side. I think this time is really it though.

Oh I do so love your sweet goats ~ Great photography ~ sorry about the apple tree ~

Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^

I’m surprised it’s lasted this long the way it’s on its side. I guess it’s worth it for happy, healthy kids.

    I so enjoy seeing them!

The pose of Xerxes and Sm makes me smile! I understand why Muffin doesn’t get out much … the lot of a mom:)

    • Teresa March 5, 2016 at 10:00 pm #

Pistol is out with her kids. Muffin has a brain injury.

      • jesh stg March 6, 2016 at 1:55 am #

Poor Muffin. Does that take extra care (for you)?

      • Teresa March 6, 2016 at 7:13 am #

Not really. I will have to check when I quit haying everyone to make sure she’s eating enough, but it’s not a problem.

Tommy and Pj are getting so big! Love how Sam always looks likes he’s up to something..lol. Your pics make my day! ( we are still waiting for our babies, I can only assume we counted wrong)

It’s so hard to get an accurate due date. If they don’t settle, it’s another three weeks. They are very long weeks too at that point. LOL

Barn service doesn’t sound too bad. As long as she’s happy. Pricilla was like that. She didn’t want to be with them but she wanted to know they were there.

    • Teresa March 6, 2016 at 7:12 am #

She’s not her old self. I think she has some vision stuff and lots of memory problems. She’s easily over stimulated. Overall, she seems content.

I love the shot (2nd last) of Muffin. She looks like she is king of the castle up there. Love all your take on the words.

  13. Alica March 6, 2016 at 4:48 am #

Chuckling here at Muffin calling for barn service! 🙂 I forget what happened to her.

    • Teresa March 6, 2016 at 7:13 am #

She was fighting through a fence and got tangled in wire. She about strangled herself, which resulted in the brain injury.

  14. Tamar March 6, 2016 at 7:52 am #

Love them looking out of the barn door!

    • Teresa March 6, 2016 at 8:12 am #

It’s one of their favorite ways to pass the day. 🙂

  15. Sarah Cass March 6, 2016 at 8:38 am #

Great series of pictures, and I love the story you tell with them.

  16. Sherrie @ Food for Thought March 6, 2016 at 10:11 am #

Great shots. Love how you make this a story along with the pictures. All of the goats look so content and happy. Have a great day!

    • Teresa March 6, 2016 at 12:15 pm #

Thanks. I try to keep them happy and healthy.
