Welcome back to Friday’s Hunt. I want to thank everyone who joined in last week. I had a lot of fun visiting everyone who linked up. I’m excited for week ten! It’s very simple. Anyone can participate. The link opens at 7pm Central time and will close Sunday at 7pm, so you have plenty of time to enter. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to visit some of the other entries.
If you didn’t participate this week but would like to next week, the topics will be: Starts with K, Week’s Favorite, and flower. I will always keep a list of the items for the coming week in my sidebar at the top. Without further ado, here’s my interpretations for the week.
Starts with J: I found the letter J in my barn. Kind of. If you tilt your head to the right, you can see this hook that is attached to a wall of my barn looks like a J. I have no idea why this hook was put in the barn, but it’s rather in the way. If people come to visit, I have to make sure they don’t run face first into it.
Java. Joe. No decaf here. Just good old Folgers, some text books and the ceramic elephant (I think) a student made in their pottery class and gave to me.
Week’s Favorite: I took this picture of Minnie Pearl last weekend. I love it. She’s such a beautiful queen.
A cuppa warm goodness to start the day. I have to tell you, parent teacher conferences make my morning coffee even more important. I might have also splurged on a horrible-for-me pre-packaged cream cheese danish. You do what you have to to get through the week.
Finally, the weekend’s here!
Now it’s your turn!
oh that kinda cuppa
Whatever cuppa works for you. 😉
Hello Teresa….I am back from my hols so including the Friday Hunt in my Friday Favourites post……I do love the pic of your goat Minnie….I have a photo of my previous dog with the same look on her face (if that is possible!) and it is a favourite of mine which is now in a frame. I often make the mistake of buying something to have with my cuppa….which I really wish I hadn’t after eating it!
Glad to hear you’re back. I’ll have to come join in. Been crazy with parent teacher conferences. You do what you have to in order to get through those weeks.
Good luck with your conferences, and enjoy (if you can) the packaged danish. It’s sustenance, but a good cup of coffee can diminish the always cloyingly sweet vending machine pastry.
Minnie, indeed, is beautiful!
Thanks. I didn’t see many parents (high school level), but the conferences went well.
Cheese Danish is always a special treat–hard to pass up!
Especially during conference week! Otherwise, I’m usually pretty good.
That’s a great photo of Minnie – she so reminds me of Millie.Albeit with two horns.
Well, they are twins. 🙂
Hi Teresa ~~ I’m glad you made it through the conferences. That’s one good thing about teaching college kids, they don’t want you messing with parents. They’re grown now. I think that J-hook is meant for hanging bulky horse riggings, like halters or bridles. I’m not sure how the saddle would fit, we sat our astraddle a beam like bar or else hung them by the saddle horns.
Minnie Pearl needs a hat with the price tag still hanging. I always liked here but don’t remember a thing about her singing.
..
That would make sense in a horse barn, but mine was originally a dairy barn. I’m not sure what they would have hung on it. Minnie has wattles dangling from her neck. That’s how she got the name Minnie Pearl.
Hang something on the J hook so people do not walk into it but good for the meme. Love that shot of Minnie.
Not sure what I could hang on there that the goats wouldn’t tear down. They are kind of entertained that way.
I first thought your J was a horn ! Minnie is indeed a beauty ! the perfect model !
It is the right shape for a horn!
Your J-hook is so graceful. It’s actually quite elegant! It definitely needs something hanging on it. That might even fit in for a future Friday Hunt
Queen Minnie is lovely, especially with her beautiful horns.
I think I have used it before to hang a Valentine’s Day wreath on. Maybe I can find one for St. Patrick’s Day.
That J Hook photo is really superb. It just has such a great photographic look to it. When I first saw the ceramic elephant I actually thought it was a grey piggy. I always enjoy seeing your goats. I just adore Goats.
It does look like a pig. I’m not really sure what it is. LOL It was nice of the young man to give it to me though.
I can just here Capt. Hook. Now where did I leave that hook? 😉
Cute!
Hello Teresa, thanks for hosting. I love your Minnie Pearl photo, she is sweet. I have to have my big cup of coffee in the morning. Happy weekend
My coffee’s brewing right now! Minnie is a daisy. She’s really sweet.
Oh my gosh, I remember PT conferences! It seemed the parents I really needed to speak with never showed for the meetings…I remember how frustrated I felt about that. Minnie Pearl is looking mighty purty!
That’s pretty much how it still is. 😦 Minnie is a true queen!
Wonderful photos! I will try to remember to join in next time. Have a great weekend 🙂
Thanks, Denise. I would love to have you join in. Hope you have a great weekend too.
That hook looks rather menacing! 🙂 A good place to hang your hat, perhaps?
Pretty sure the goats would find that entertaining! I really have no idea why it’s there. I have another board stuck out that holds a gate open, but this one makes no sense.
I like the pic of Pearl, too, and I LOVE your coffee cup.
Thanks. I do love my mug. 🙂
I have been trying to leave a comment since Friday night but my laptop will not download your blog and I’ve noticed resistance with other bloggers using WordPress too. I even had to link from my iPad which is where I am now.
Figures Minnie and Mille are twins, two divas for sure 😉 Sure shootin if I were to visit your barn I’d walk into that big hook or trip on something.
It was fun to have you add ‘a cuppa’ to the challenge this week and I off to see what the others have in theirs.
Thanks for hosting Teresa.
I’ve noticed different browsers are sometimes better than others with the blogs. Don’t know what you use, but that might help. Minnie and Millie certainly are/were bigger than life personalities.
I love your creative J, and I have to start my day off with some coffee also.
Thanks. I have to start every day with coffee!
Cool photos, Teresa. Minnie Pearl looks very majestic. I imagine her pleased with the way her subjects are curtseying and bowing before her.
The View from the Top of the Ladder
Thanks. Minnie truly is a queen!
That hook does look like it could be a problem! Yikes!!
I know it’s there and duck around it automatically. It’s just when other people visit that I must be diligent in warning them.
