Snowy Day

24 Dec

I’m posting early because I’ll have my whole family here this evening.  With all the warm weather and mud, I really did not expect a white Christmas, but look.  It started snowing mid morning while the goats were out in pasture,

and we’ve had a good inch or so.

Xerxes was not impressed.  He was content to watch from the doorway of his shed.

Finally, the goats came back up from pasture.

I must say, it does make the day much more festive.  Here’s wishing all those who celebrate the holiday a very merry Christmas!

Please come back tomorrow when I reveal the details of the new linky party I’m starting.  The first linky will be live on New Year’s Day.  I do hope you’ll come and join me for some fun.  Sharing with Good Fences and Skywatch Friday.

It is much better than the mud we’ve had. Hopefully, it stays cold enough we don’t go back to mud.

The picture of Xerxes is really special! He looks so cute standing there! We had Bit of snow this morning, which melted. Then this evening, after church, it started snowing again, with big flakes. Now it’s raining! And 36 degrees.

I hope your celebration with your family was really nice. I’m wishing we could be with our kids.

    Have a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from rainy warm Virginia!

    • Teresa December 25, 2015 at 4:37 pm #

We’ve been very warm and rainy too. I’m enjoying a bit colder weather to firm up some of our mud. Hope you had a merry Christmas!

Hibteesa ~~ I think your goats like the snow. Except for Xerxes, he must have thought he didn’t have much to gain by going out in it. Is he old?

    • Teresa December 25, 2015 at 8:58 pm #

Xerxes is pretty young, only 9 months. Everyone else was already out in pasture when it started snowing.

Lucky, lucky you Teresa! Christmas Eve day we were in the 60s…lovely, but not my idea of what Christmas should be. Enjoy each and every day.

    • Teresa December 26, 2015 at 2:14 pm #

Thanks, Tom. It really was a nice surprise for Christmas. Of course, we’re horribly muddy again today before a forecasted seven inches of snow on Monday. Crazy winter.

It’s tough to think about snow when it’s 70 degrees, I’m hoping for some payback next month!

    • Teresa December 27, 2015 at 12:52 pm #

We’re looking at another 7 inches tomorrow. Pretty sure winter has finally arrived.

The snow does add to the festive air. We were in shorts part of the day here in central Texas. Seems odd after almost 40 years in a colder clime.

I don’t think I could live somewhere that didn’t have all four season. Hope you had a great holiday.

I must admit, the snow makes for a pretty picture. 🙂

It does, and I much prefer the snow to mud.
