Holiday Sales

5 Dec

This was a busy weekend.  Friday night I had a holiday stroll in State Center where I do the farmer’s market in the summer.  It was a good night for me.  Of course, I have a customer base built up, and they all come to stock up on soaps for the winter.

Today was the Holiday Bazaar in Melbourne.  I have to say, I’ve yet to have a good sales day there.

Market 2

I’m pretty sure I won’t be going back to that one.  There was a big weekend sale in the county seat that I’d have done if I hadn’t already committed to the little one.  I guess I can try that one next year.

I’m dreaming about the day I can host my own holiday craft sale/bazaar.  With all the Christmas candles and soaps I have left, I hope I’ll still have some people want to come get some or order online.

I’m sorry it was a bust. Sometimes you just can’t tell. Maybe next year when you try the other one you’ll sell a lot.

I honestly think this is the first time I’ve completely busted, so I guess I’ll call that pretty good overall.

Wishing it would have worked out better for you. I see how far you have come though since that first tentative batch and I think you have done wonderfully – you have made some major leaps in a tough business. Next year will be better.

The first night was good. I should have gone to the larger market, but I found out about it too late.

Sorry it was a bust, I am surprised with so many people doing their Christmas shopping. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

It’s hard to have a good craft show in such a small town. Wish I had found out about the one in our county seat before I committed to this one. Next year!

I did the craft show circuit for 15 yrs with my pottery and what nots before we moved here in 2004… You just never know what a show will be like. Like you say try the other show next year :O). You certainly have a good spot to host your own show now! To lease out booths to other crafters as well :

It’s always a gamble, but I’ve never done this badly at a Christmas show. I will definitely go for the larger venue next year.

Received the soaps and melts yesterday. Such lovely sights and scents. Would the medium and large boxes that are a set price hold your candles? That might be a way to ship. I used them several times when living away from grandsons and ‘needing’ to ship goodies for holidays.

So glad to hear they arrived. Part of it is fitting them into boxes. They might fit in the medium one. Also, I have not figured out how to diversify on Pay Pal to allow different shipping rates for different items. I’d have to charge three times as much for the candles to pay for the shipping.

That’s a lovely array of beautiful projects. I’m sorry about the “bust”!

You never know how they will turn out. I did have a good sale on Friday though.
