The Start of Fall

23 Sep

It’s beginning to look like fall out there, and it should since today is the official start of fall.  The pasture is still a lush green with all the rain we’ve had, which is good, but the beans are turning.

It won’t be long before they are harvested.

Sharing with Alphabe-Thursday for the letter S.  S is for Start of fall.

Wish I could have been home for it all, but I did manage to get outside for a bit this evening.

It felt like autumn here today. Where did that breeze come from?

    • Teresa September 24, 2015 at 10:08 pm #

We’ve had great weather this last week. Hope it continues.

Yup! It was definitely cooler here today in western Oregon! I guess summer couldn’t last forever!

    • Teresa September 24, 2015 at 10:09 pm #

I do love fall. I will miss summer though.

  6. CountryMum September 24, 2015 at 2:52 am #

And we are heading to summer quite quickly!

Just yesterday I photographed a field of soybeans being harvested. Yep, it’s that time of year already!

    • Teresa September 24, 2015 at 10:10 pm #

Mine are probably a couple of weeks away, but it’s getting close. Lots of fields are already being harvested.

I’m sad to see summer go, but it’s bound to happen sooner or later!

    • Teresa September 24, 2015 at 10:10 pm #

I love summer and being on the farm all the time, but I have to admit that I’m very excited for the start of my pumpkin patch next month.

The kids are doing well. I miss my long days staying at home, but that’s also a part of fall.

Autumn, such an emotional season – going from bright hot summer to cloudy, cold days in winter! (That’s my take on it – others may have another experience!)

    • Teresa September 24, 2015 at 10:11 pm #

It is emotional for me because the days get short, and I have to go to work every day. I miss the long days with the animals.

Here’s to Fall! It is my favorite season. The temps have been in the 90s so no Fall in the air feeling yet.

    • Teresa September 26, 2015 at 8:28 pm #

We’ve been warm too. Hope you get some relief.

Fall in the south is not so much about leaves changing color as much as cotton and corn fields ready ready for harvest.

    • Teresa September 28, 2015 at 8:38 pm #

The harvest is just starting around here. I can hear the combines outside.

  14. Ruby Manchanda September 28, 2015 at 8:18 am #

The fall is definitely in the air

    • Teresa September 28, 2015 at 8:39 pm #

It is. We’re supposed to turn much colder tomorrow.
