Rhodes Days

25 Jul

My small town has its annual celebration this weekend.  It started last night with fireworks and included a parade and farmer’s market today along with a lot of other activities.  I set up my table at the farmer’s market, and I had a float in the parade.  My little windmill was on the float, along with the scarecrows my mom made.

My sister’s puppy was a big help!  Except he makes me want a puppy too.

That puppy is killing me, but I will wait until Stella is gone. I’m not sure how she’d react, and at 11+ years with cancer, she doesn’t need stress.

Oh, that looks like so much fun. I love small town parades. What a great community you are a part of. Love the float. Fall looks exciting on your farm. That is one cute puppy!

Thanks. It’s always hit and miss with my fireworks photography. I only do it once a year.

What a fun parade, I like your float and the puppy is just adorable. Happy Sunday!

The float was simple, but I thought that was best considering the two farmer’s markets I had going too.

Thanks. Fireworks are so hard to photograph, and for me it’s mostly luck.

I love parades! Your float is great and the scarecrows add a lot to it! We have a little parade here, too, and we watch it every year. Fireworks are hard take pictures of… Yours are good.

That first fireworks shot is fantastic. Glad you told us how that cute puppy belongs to because I was thinking that I did not recall you having a puppy, but hey maybe things changed in the weeks I was gone.

No new puppy here. I won’t get a puppy until Stella is gone. She doesn’t need that stress at her age and with cancer. I guess I’ll wait patiently.

Nicely done on the float. I would never have guessed what you had up your sleeve when you got the windmill. Your mom’s scarecrows turned out well. Those folding chairs at the market are great. We got a couple of them this year.

I figured the windmill would be a good mystery. 😉
