This week’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday is brought to you by the cherry tree. The topics: then and now, indulge, happiness, summer, and pop of color.
Summer: I picked cherries this morning. Nothing says summer is here like a big bucket of cherries waiting to be cleaned.
Then and Now: We had tons of cherry blossoms earlier in the spring, and now I have lots of cherries on my tree.
Happiness: Sometimes we have to look at what we have and make our own happiness.
Indulge: Maybe I’ll indulge in making more wine with the cherries if we also have a good apple crop.
Pop of Color: Of course, that bright red stands out and makes a bold statement.

These are lovely sour cherries for making a pie or jam. You can’t seem to find them at the store, so I’m glad my tree gave me a bunch.

I kind of got tired, so I froze them. I can make wine or a pie out of them some other time.
We took the kids cherry-picking once and they still talk about it. How lucky that yo have your own cherry tree. 🙂

My first thought was to make cherry lemonade!! Doesn’t that sound refreshing? Oh I miss the lovely pie cherries my father-in-law had in his orchard! They were the best! And free, too!!

If only you could share those gorgeous cherries. I so love them. Usually they are around at Christmas time in my Australian world. And ours are usually a deepest purple.
Those are probably a sweet cherry. These are a tart cherry for pies and jams. They’re not very good to eat plain.
My favorites are the then and now shots. That wine does look good. So sorry to hear Coffee died…boo.

These are not a sweet cherry for eating plain. They are very sour, but they make wonderful pies and jams. I don’t think you can even buy these at the store.

Those dark eating cherries are expensive here too. If I were smart, I’d plant some of those trees too.

They are very sour cherries for baking. I wouldn’t want to just eat them.

We have 1 Cherry tree and we haven’t got any cherries durings these 4 – 5 years we have had that tree. Can you say why ?? What can be the reason why cherry tree don’t produce cherries ??? I JUST LOVE YOUR PHOTOS !! Delicious !
Well, sometimes they have to mature that can take several years. Some fruit trees need to have more than one in order to produce fruit. Not sure which it might be for you.
