I really meant it yesterday when I said things are finally going to happen this summer! It’s the first of the month, so that means it’s time for an update on what’s happening up north. See that tractor coming. I’m so excited!
We planted pumpkins today! We borrowed an actual pumpkin planter, and hooked it up to my dad’s antique tractor, and then we planted!
By “we” I really mean my nephew, but I did pick up lots of sticks from where the tree stumps had been removed. I did do something besides taking pictures (just not a lot).
We figure it’s just over an acre of space that will be solid pumpkin patch!
It is this long stretch that starts with the two trees (one on either side) and around the corner, stopping just before the third tree (to the far left).
I can hardly wait for October now!
Sharing with Song-ography. This week, I chose the song, I’m So Excited! written by Dave Gibson. Really, I am!
I can feel your excitement Teresa! I’m happy for you; you’re going to have your pumpkin patch!! YeeHah! Now;if you need help getting anything done/made for your visitors;give me a holler!
I’ll certainly keep that in mind, Jan! It’s going to be a lot of work.
I can see it all coming together. Find someone with a pony sweep and you’ll be in business!
We have lots of things planned! No ponies though.
This is awesome — going to do a children’s pumpkin patch ???
Hopefully, it will be a pick-your-own for the whole family to enjoy!
Heck, now I’m excited too! Hooray for pumpkin planting!
I love fall, and now I have another reason to be excited for it!
How fun!
It is fun to finally be making progress.
Wow, great to have a dream coming into fulfillment! I love pumpkins! And don’t forget, the pumpkin seeds have great anti-inflammatory properties. I always have a package of these in my cupboard.
Pumpkins are amazing. They are great for the goats too, but hopefully, I’ll sell them all. 😉
Best wishes on the planting! That is exciting!
Thanks! I’ve been saying “I’m so excited” for days, so it seemed the perfect song for today.
that’s awesome. here’s to a good crop!
Thanks! I hope they do well.
This IS big news! Your plans are coming together just as you hoped. You will have such fun in October!
We’re working on it. My nephew has been wonderful to help his old aunt in this venture.
How exciting!!
Looks like you had a beautiful day to plant pumpkins. How exciting to anticipate that field full of those orange globes.
Excellent! I hope your “punkin patch” will do beautifully! It should look great there in that spot too.
My entire farm is beautiful, but this corner will be perfect for people to enjoy the farm while finding that perfect pumpkin.
How exciting and it will be great for photographs.
Yes! We’re going to try to set things up for lots of photo opportunities and fun.
Pumpkins, that is cool! I wish you a great pumpkin crop. Enjoy your day!
Thanks, Eileen!
What fun! Will people come to pick their own…or will you sell them at market?
We’re looking at doing a pick-your-own.
I would love to do that! Just plant me a acre of pumpkins! I hope yours do really good!
Thanks. I hope they sell well, and we’ll do it again (maybe even bigger) next year!
I had no idea there was such a thing AS a “pumpkin planter”…I learned something new today! I’m so excited 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Song-ography!
There’s a planter for pretty much every kind of seed. 😉 Thanks for hosting.
Can’t wait to see your pumpkin patch in growth!
I know. I’m excited for it!
I could feel your excitement through your words!
It really has me pumped up!
Yay! Pumpkins! I love seeing them growing in fields. I can’t wait to see your photos!
I’m super excited about this. It’s been a long time coming.
