Monday Random-ocity

18 May

The Good.  My little cherry tree has tons of green cherries that are growing and starting to get big.  I can’t wait for them to be red and ripe.

Growing Cherries

The Random.  This falls more into the category of I told her so.  The goose is gone.  It looks like she escaped, but her nest was destroyed, and I only found the remains of a couple of eggs.  I really didn’t think that she picked a very good spot.  I’m glad she seems to have escaped.

The Fun.  Other birds are just building their nest the way it looks.  I’m also adding the red-winged blackbird just for the fun of it.

nice cherries;you should have a good crop of them! Love the bird shots. Seen a bunch of baby geese at the marsh;maybe they hatched & moved;hopefully.

I just hope they aren’t buggy when I pick them. I’m pretty sure they didn’t move. They weren’t due to hatch yet.

The cherries are looking good. Poor goose. It’s not easy being a bird.

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 6:08 pm #

I have no idea how she thought that would be a good place. I’m just glad I didn’t find any big feathers.

So much like the circle of life, just all great pictures out and about nature.

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 6:09 pm #

That circle of life is always present on the farm.

How fun to have a cherry tree!

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 6:09 pm #

It is nice! They make great jam and pies (and wine).

    Poor goose eggs.

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 6:20 pm #

Good thing they are not an endangered species.

Very nice photos today! I’m very sorry about whatever happened to the goose! Nature can be difficult! Have a good evening!

I think the goose is okay (no feathers from her), but her nest is destroyed. That certainly is the way of nature.

    Very pretty.

She should have listened to you:( Do you have any idea who the culprit is of the destroyed nest?

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 8:14 pm #

A raccoon or coyote. I don’t know which.

  10. Carol B. May 18, 2015 at 8:14 pm #

Too bad about the eggs. Nice photos.

    • Teresa May 18, 2015 at 8:15 pm #

It is the way of nature, but I do hate to see it.

I hope you get to eat the cherries before the birds do! Sorry I’ve not been around for a while…it’s been crazy! 🙂

    • Teresa May 19, 2015 at 6:50 am #

No worries. Hope it’s good crazy.

  12. Margaret May 19, 2015 at 1:23 am #

So we are not going to see Goslings! Glad the goose escaped.

    • Teresa May 19, 2015 at 6:50 am #

Well, we still might have some domestic ones in the barnyard. That’s a much safer place for a nest.

The cherries look like they will be great. I feel sad for the goose and eggs. Have a happy day!

    • Teresa May 19, 2015 at 6:51 am #

Me too. Just glad she escaped.

  14. Coloring Outside the Lines May 19, 2015 at 10:24 am #

Oh that’s sad! I hope she got away from whatever it was after the eggs!

    • Teresa May 19, 2015 at 10:27 am #

I did not see a single big feather, so I think she escaped.

  15. Leovi May 20, 2015 at 2:19 am #

    Wonderful cherries, congratulations !!!

    • Teresa May 20, 2015 at 7:43 am #

I’m looking forward to fresh cherry jam!

I love the colour on the Blackbird, and the busy little Sparrow.

    • Teresa May 23, 2015 at 8:23 pm #

That sparrow was certainly working hard!

  17. EG CameraGirl May 20, 2015 at 6:05 am #

Some geese truly do NOT choose good spots for nests! Glad she got away!

    • Teresa May 20, 2015 at 7:45 am #

I really did tell her that wasn’t a good place. Glad she escaped though.

  18. Marie-AZ May 20, 2015 at 12:59 pm #

So sad about the goose nest! It’s good she got away. Your other bird photos are awesome!

    • Teresa May 20, 2015 at 1:27 pm #

I was disappointed that we won’t have cute goslings out there, but we might still have some in the barnyard.
