Out to Pasture

7 May

We finally had a break in the rain while I was at home. Even though it’s been spotty the last few days, it seems like the evenings have been misty and rainy, and I haven’t been out to pasture for a few days.  Tonight, it was sunny after chores, so I went out for a walk.  When I looked back, I was being followed.

Our wonderful herd queen was following me, and the rest of the herd was following her.

I didn’t get rained on, but there were still some clouds out there.

Some were even a bit dramatic.

It sounds like the next couple of days (after more possible storms overnight) will be dry.  Then we have chances of severe weather on Sunday.

Love the herd following you;that is an awesome photo! But;they all are. Tired of the wet too. Weeds & dandelions like it though. 🙂

Thanks. I thought it looked pretty impressive with the line stretching that long.

Oh, I do love your herd queen!! What a beauty!! I do hope you get some good weather soon!! All those storms and rain do get old!! Hope you have a good weekend — you and the herd!!

Thanks, Minnie is a sweet girl. We’ve been lucky to miss any of the severe weather so far, and we’ve needed the rain. It just makes it hard to do much outside.

I currently have 45 adults and 36 kids. All but four were out there.

What a fun procession you had following you and the Queen is very regal looking. Enjoyed your post.

Now that’s one funny photo! Too bad they can’t talk so you don’t know why they decided that it was a good idea:)

Well, they always go out to pasture to eat in the evening. I’m assuming they decided it was a good time to go since I was headed out there too.

    Now that’s bonding.

I love it when our little herd follows me around. Sometimes its the herd queen leading the group, other times it’s a young kid excited to lead the way, ears flopping the whole time. I have almost fallen over, from looking behind me. And your herd queen in magnificent!!!

Wow, you have many followers. Cute too. Wonderful sky captures, enjoy your day and weekend!

That’s a herd mentality. They all stick pretty close together.

Cute little goat conga line you have following you! We sure are getting a lot of rain this spring..I’m glad for it, except for the flooding and sever weather.

Sorry you’ve gotten severe weather. We’ve been quite lucky with the rain we’ve had. I can’t complain at all (but it was nice getting to go out for a walk).

The rain is headed my way… apparently we get a couple days of thunderstorms just in time for Mothers day celebrations tomorrow and Sunday. You can tell I’m thrilled…. lol…
Beautiful photos of the pasture. So inviting, even to this animal. 🙂
Hope you have a happy mother’s day!

Beautiful pictures! Love the herd following you, and the Beautiful Queen Minnie! You got some really nice views of those clouds, too.

    • Teresa May 10, 2015 at 8:37 am #

Thanks, Jeanne. We’ve had a lot of clouds this past week.

That’s quite a following you have. We’ll have to call you the Pied Piper. Hopefully the “severe” weather will miss you.

They’re still calling for strong storms today, but I hope it’s nothing too bad.

Love seeing the farm and the herd following you.

    • Teresa May 10, 2015 at 8:39 am #

They usually do follow me whenever I’m out there. Lots of fun to hang out.
