Kids: Yesterday and Today

1 Apr

There were no new kids Monday night.  Tuesday morning was a whirlwind of births.  Maisie had her first twin, a buck, no problems.  The second had her head twisted back, and the vet came and pulled her.

While I was waiting for the vet and he was helping us, Reva was in labor in the other building.  Nearly as soon as the vet left, I pulled her single doe.

Then I checked everyone else and discovered Harley had had triplets (two girls and a boy) on her own.  She had them cleaned up and they had nursed.  That’s the way I like it to happen.

Just a short time later, Victoria had her buck and doe. Some little diva is always in the way of her brother.

Overnight, Stormy had twins.  Of course, they are another boy/girl set.

Finally, late this morning, Helen had twin girls.

Whew!  We’re down to four more to kid.

Sharing with Alphabe-Thursday for the letter T.  T is for today and thankful for healthy kids and good help.

They are just starting to get bouncy!

  4. Jim April 1, 2015 at 11:18 pm #

They are ALL so cute, Teresa. This past weekend Mrs. Jim and I were at a ‘toy’ ranch that gets inner city kids to come out to the country. The fellow there has about 20 or so goats, some with little, little ones. They were really cute. When the others would stir or come over, the newest mother would stay calm and laying down by her two white babies.
They have five horses for the kids to ride, a pig, a few dogs, and some ponds with fish. I ‘worked’ the fishing pond where I baited hooks and showed the kids how to put the hooks in the water and to tell when a fish is nibbling.
When there is a letter where I haven’t been (X??) I will post about our day there.
