Sallie had her kids this morning. She had a buck and a doe all on her own.
I’m so relieved they are safely here!
Because her udder was hard and the issues of infection in the fall, I had the vet come and check her out. He didn’t find anything obviously indicating an infection, but he agreed I’d need to watch to make sure she was producing enough milk to feed them both. Since I had a plan for bottle kids if she couldn’t feed them, I took her boy. I feel horrible about it, but sometimes, if they start nursing on their mom, they won’t take a bottle. He’s had colostrum, and I’m waiting for him to get hungry before bed. Then I’ll see if he’ll take a bottle. Thursday, he’s scheduled to go to his new home.
awww. but glad they made it to the world okay.
Better than okay. I’m hopeful she’ll be able to raise one. I’d have been devastated (and would Sallie) if I’d had to take both kids again this year. I’m hoping to let her keep this little girl forever.
Babies!!!
Just in case you are wondering…it’s me Junebug! I don’t know why my name didn’t appear!
We’re happy to have babies! Can’t wait to see your cute little kids!
And the tail count has started!
Yes it has! We’re starting even!
Awww, I love the little white spot on his head.
He’s a cute guy. I’m glad he’s going to a good home where he’ll be properly spoiled.
So happy for you and especially Sallie. She’s gonna be a good Maa!!! Congrats on the beginning of your season!
She really is a wonderful, doting mom.
St. Patrick Day kids. Good for Sallie. Hoping they’ll both be ok & her too! 🙂
They are all well. Her buck has taken to a bottle, so they should all be fine.
Well now that must be the luck of the Irish that she had them on StPatrick’s Day. They are gorgeous.
It certainly turned out well!
They are so so so cute. Congrats on your new family memebers 🙂 I know that’s pet talk not farm talk.
Thanks, Erika.
Whew! That’s a relief! So good to know it went well! And they’re both adorable! I’m glad the little guy has a good home to go to.
It is a huge relief. I’m glad she’ll get to keep one with her.
It would seem that the world is still turning – signs of seasons end (or beginning) everywhere!
Cheers – Stewart M – Melbourne.
It certainly is!
What a relief! They are adorable babies.
I am very relieved to have them here!
Congrats- they are super cute little kids.
Thanks. Oopsie kids are always sweet and adorable!
She had beautiful kids! Hope mom is well.
Thanks. Sallie is doing well. They all are. I’ll just keep a close eye on them to make sure her little girl keeps getting enough to eat.
I’ve missed baby goats! So much cuteness! I hope Sallie is OK.
Sallie is doing well!
