After the Storm

26 Feb

We survived the snow yesterday, and we only had about three inches.  Today we have a ton of sunshine, but it hasn’t done much for the temperatures.

Sun icicles

We reached a high of 11*F (-11.6*C) and we’re supposed to be about the same tomorrow.

Sundog Icicle

The only thing this winter has been good for is icicles and sundogs.

Okay, I know we need our cold season, but I’m ready for more average temperatures.

Sharing with Skywatch Friday.

This summer your lakes and rivers should be full, you won’t have a drought were the West Coast will have drought, more wild fires and low levels of water in lakes and rivers. I know you have had more then your share of snow though.

We haven’t had the huge amounts like out east. Right now our water levels are pretty good. I feel for all those places suffering from severe droughts.

I adore sun dogs and frankly, envy your cold temps as I face yet another week of temperatures hovering around 40F.

I’d love to trade you weather! We’re supposed to be around 40 for our highs, but we’re -14F this morning.

The antibiotics have helped. He seems back to normal. I will always keep a close eye on him though.

Beautiful photos Teresa… love the sundog… we’ve had similar temps here… one morning this past week it was -17F at 7am. Warmer today, all the way up to 25!

    • Teresa February 27, 2015 at 2:07 pm #

That sounds like us. We had a two hour delay to school this morning because of the cold.

    • Teresa February 27, 2015 at 6:28 pm #

Thanks! We’re trying. Another cold night, but it’s looking better by next weekend.

      • fredamans February 27, 2015 at 6:41 pm #

Here, we’re looking at second week of March before it gets more normal temperature-wise. Brr. I could stand to get out of the double minus anytime now… lol

      • Teresa February 27, 2015 at 6:42 pm #

I just hope we get to normal by the time Sallie has her kids. Stay warm!

Glad the snowfall was not overwhelming. Those icicles look dangerous.

    • Teresa February 27, 2015 at 6:29 pm #

I’d worry more about the cold than the icicles. It was horrible out there.
