An All Over the Farm Scavenger Hunt

1 Jun

It’s time for Scavenger Hunt Sunday again, and there’s no theme this week.  The topics are:  Make mine a ___, Quirky, Morning Ritual, What Were They Thinking?, and What’s in your ___.

What’s in Your Cornfield?  I had a deer in mine last night.  I’d bet she was scoping out which rows she’s going to claim as her own.

What Were They Thinking?  I just put clean water in that pool, and now it’s all dirty again!

Make Mine a Mystic Jules.  That’s what I’ve named the kitten we found in pasture.  Nobody has claimed her, so she’s getting fixed this week, and she’s here permanently.

Morning Ritual:  My morning ritual is to go out each morning (and evening) and holler for Haley.  She comes on the run.

Haley

Haley

Her morning ritual is to see how much grain she can eat in the short time we’re in the chicken coop.

Quirky:  I suppose some would think it quirky that I milk my goats and enjoy their milk in my coffee and on my cereal and pretty much any way.

It’s good stuff though.

Thanks. The new kitty is rather an anklebiter, but she’s sweet too.

What a fun post. Lots of activity there on your farm.
I love seeing Deer, I just hope she doesn’t eat all your corn.
That little kitten is darling, she has a sweet and unusual looking face.
Those Ducks look to be having fun in the water.
Yours and Haley’s morning rituals are fun.
Goats milk to me would be quirky but I’m sure you find it normal.

It’s always busy around here, but I don’t always show these little everyday things. 🙂

do you sell your goat milk? or does your entire family drink it? the deer have eaten our lettuce & strawberries.

    • Teresa June 1, 2014 at 8:59 pm #

I’m not licensed to sell my milk (probably because I milk in the chicken coop). I use it to make soap, freeze it for bottle kids, and then use what I want for me.

I’ve tried goats milk, at the fair. They served it icy cold. It’s different. Loved the pictures! Maybe you should have named Jules “Mystic” ??!!! She looks rather mysterious!

    • Teresa June 1, 2014 at 9:00 pm #

The full name is Mystic Jules, but we just call her Jules. I think the only difference I can taste in the goats’ milk is that it is whole.

Jules is so cute. Are her eyes really green? I haven’t tried goats milk but I have tried a couple different goat cheeses. Its ok. Do you make goat cheese? No baby this weekend? 😦

    • Teresa June 1, 2014 at 9:46 pm #

No babies so far. I’ve made a couple kinds of soft cheese, but I absolutely LOVE my yogurt. 🙂

LOVE this set of images. One never knows exactly what God’s creatures are thinking, but they do provide a great source of entertainment. Have a blessed week.

My critters seem to have a way of expressing themselves. It’s largely a matter of taking the time to listen and pay attention. Hope you have a wonderful week as well.

Love the shot of the deer with the white flag flying! Glad Jules is getting a permanent home with you.

I have to say, Jules has been pretty easy to take in. Snickers is the only one truly bent out of shape about it.

Ducks and geese can muck up the water in a hurry. Jules is pretty, I’m glad she gets to stay.

They have the water dirty ten minutes after I give it to them.
