The Good. The Random. The Fun

28 Apr

The Good.  I think this is a good place for the cat to sharpen his claws.  Way better than the couch!

The Random.  I love my dog.  That’s not the random part.

Stella

Stella

The random part is her recently developed hobby of digging.  Really???????

The Fun.  It’s always fun to take pictures of pretty flowers.

I’m still waiting for the magnolia tree to fully open.  I’m hoping the rain and wind doesn’t ruin it.

i’m guessing stella is hot and trying to cool off in the dirt. hasn’t acclimated to the seasons yet?

    • Teresa April 28, 2014 at 7:23 pm #

Well, I don’t know because she just started last year, and it’s been pretty cool yet.

Enjoying your shots and post. Our cats like to sharpen their claws on the couch 😦
    Stella is a cutie.

Thanks. That is one good thing about cats that like to go outside.

My magnolia is pure white, so I’m enjoying a glimpse of your reddish blossoms!

These will fade as they open, but they do start that dark pink (hopefully red for Ruby Tuesday).

I agree, way better than the couch. Gorgeous pup! I can see he is an accomplished digger. Our Magnolia trees are in full bloom right now, as are the red buds, and Bradford Pears. This is a beautiful time of year.

It is really starting to look beautiful. We’ve still been cool, so things are late this year.

If you figure out how to keep Stella from digging, let me know!

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 1:50 pm #

Sadly, I doubt I can stop her.

Nice photos, delicateness, wonderful flowers! Really very nice dog!

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 1:50 pm #

Even if she’s digging the whole yard up, I do adore my Stella.

i love the tulip magnolias, they are one of my favorites!!

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 3:16 pm #

Me too. I love the way it smells!

My Pyr used to make a depression in the shadiest, coolest corner of the yard and lie in it.

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 5:16 pm #

Stella has decided to dig up the entire front yard and has started on the back. This just started last year!

Oh, the holes! We have them here, too, courtesy of the two big dogs who used to live here!

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 5:17 pm #

I’m thinking it might be the start of some creative landscaping or something. LOL

I just love your Stella! Maybe she is trying to tell your to plant something there. The magnolia blossoms are pretty. Wonderful series of photos, enjoy your week!

    • Teresa April 29, 2014 at 5:38 pm #

Thanks, Eileen. Stella is sweet, but I do wish she would quit digging.

  11. Jeanne April 29, 2014 at 11:11 pm #

The magnolia is lovely! So is Stella! Is she a Chow? She certainly has a lot of hair!! (Fur?)

    • Teresa April 30, 2014 at 7:32 am #

Stella is a Great Pyrenees. She’s a livestock guardian in theory.

      • Jeanne April 30, 2014 at 2:56 pm #

Oh, silly me! I should’ve known! There are Great Pyrenees in this area, to protect the sheep…as well and llamas for the same purpose! Anyway, Stella has a beautiful face! Is she friendly, but just not to the vet?

      • Teresa April 30, 2014 at 5:21 pm #

She is a freak. She’s deathly afraid of people, so that puts her in fight or flight mode. It doesn’t have to be the vets, but that is the only person she’s actually bitten because I’m sure to keep her feeling safe.

      Thanks so much, Carol.

I especially like your ginger cat (being a cat lover…especially, ginger cats!). What a perfect place for sharpening claws (much better than my lounge room chairs!!). A great series of images. Thanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)

    • Teresa April 30, 2014 at 5:31 pm #

Thanks. I love both of my orange kitties. I just wish they could get along.
