I’m afraid Fionn’s ear (the one he cut the tip off) is getting infected. He’ll definitely be getting another round of antibiotics. It would probably help if he quit acting like a buck in rut. I seriously doubt that will happen until spring though.
I think I need a vacation or something. It’s been just a chaotic pace with all kinds of craziness. I kind of feel like I’m spinning my wheels and getting nowhere. My motivation has been suffering. I’ve spent the last week feeling inadequate and worthless. I don’t know why I get into these funks occasionally, but it would be nice if I could shake it. Must be the time of year. Hopefully, this funky mood will change before spring.
Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo. Not sure how it’s going to go this year. That goes back to the crazy schedule and lack of motivation. It also goes to the snarky nature of reviewers. I can handle constructive criticism, but most comments I’m reading in reviews are just petty, which I don’t understand.
It looks like the popcorn we planted in June actually filled out, and I’m going to have a good harvest. Now I just need to pick it and find somewhere to store it. That will probably end up being my dining room.
When I was walking back to the house after photographing the combine last weekend, I saw some milkweed pods ready to let their seeds fly in the wind. I had to play with this one. This is the version I shared on my author’s Facebook page.
I figure it’s always best to take a chance and risk being wrong rather than rotting in the confines of a small enclosed space. Well, unless I’m in a funky mood.

is that a call the doc moment or do u know a pasted down remedy? ( ;
hope it will clear up soon.
I think it’s an attitude adjustment thing. 🙂
🙂 Hi Teresa ~~ I do hope that Fionn’s ear will get better soon. Does the vet cauterize it? I know that a bandaid would not stay on a goat’s ear.
Popcorn sounds good. The first year of Mrs. Jim’s and my marriage I had a VW engine under the dining room table for over six months. You could save a years supply of popcorn in the corner of your dining room.
Good on the NaNoWriMo. I would like to do that but probably my schedule wouldn’t let that happen again this year. I have a hard time getting everything done now. I don’t like to commit unless I am pretty sure I can do (whatever). Perhaps I could ‘just try’ it.
..
It isn’t something that can really be cauterized. I’m afraid we’re at antibiotics (another round) and possibly lancing to let it drain. I’m waiting to hear back from the vet.
A year’s supply of popcorn is quite large for me because I sell it. 🙂
I’m still on the fence for NaNoWriMo. I’m going to have to decide which way I’m falling very soon because, like you, I don’t want to start if I’m not going to commit and finish it.
😦 The ear thing sounds awful …. hope it gets better soon!
The milkweed pod shots are wonderful …. makes me want to go out and about to find some to shoot!
Aren’t those milkweeds wonderful! I am waiting to hear back from the vet about a time to see him.
glad you’ll get a good popcorn harvest. i hope you’re able to sell it yourself, too.
sorry about the ear getting infected. darn boys… 🙂
I’m not surprised it’s infected considering his buckish behavior right now. Hopefully, the antibiotics will do it, and I don’t have to put hot packs on it or anything like that because that isn’t going to happen while he’s in rut.
oh, and i do love the milkweed shots you’ve shared!
🙂
Love these milkweed shots.
Thanks, Pat.
Hope Fionn’s ear improves with the antibiotics and lots of TLC. Growing your own popcorn..that sounds like the best ever even if you have to store it in the dining room. Now, to the NaNoWriMo. I had no clue at to what it stood for so Googled it. OMG…How in the world will you ever have the time to write a novel. I hat goes off to you. Good Luck if you decide to do it. genie
Oops. I forgot to explain the acronym. I haven’t started yet, so I’m not sure that will happen. I do love writing, and with the nights getting longer, I have more time in the evening in the house to write. If Fionn’s ear isn’t better by Monday, the vet will come drain it. I really hope it’s better.
Poor Fionn! Those are some great milkweed shots!
Thanks. Hopefully the antibiotics help.
Autumn is always a bad season for some people and they feel like you (I included) It’s called “seasonal depression” a light one but still. After Christmas you will feel better. It’s the fact that the days are short, it’s cold and we have a lack of light. Good that your animals keep you going !
We call it Seasonal Affect Disorder here. I usually don’t end up this bad. I’m sure it will be better soon. Of course, we turn our clocks back this weekend, and I hate the dark coming an hour sooner, as it’s less time with the animals.
Great pic! I love macro! If you are interested, please take a look at my macro pics here:

Thanks for stopping by.
It’s no wonder you are feeling the way you do Teresa — I think a break from some of your responsibilities would do you a world of good. (Said the pot to the kettle.)
Hope you can get some relaxation this weekend. xo
I know it will pass, but it’s just been all kinds of little things piling up. Don’t know why, but I know it will be better soon.
I’m sorry you are dealing with snarky book reviewers. I have a book review blog, and while I have had to give a bad review, I try very hard to do so in a constructive manner and always, always point out the good in the book.
I wish you continued success…
Thanks. I can handle a bad review; however, the current one had so many basic plot facts wrong, I called her on reviewing a book she only skimmed, and her reply was that she’s a fast reader. Sadly, I don’t think she realizes how much her comprehension suffers when trying to read two novels in one evening.
Beautiful photography ~ very creative and magical ~ hope your photography helps ~ Mercury is in retrograde until Nov 10th (lol) if you are into that ~ seasonal changes and all and just tired ~ You work very hard! ~ carol xx
Well, I think I’m looking forward to November 11th. 🙂 Thanks so much for your kind words.
Poor Fionn! Tell him if he would stop peeing on himself it might heal up! 😉
I have recently come out of a funk I was in for several months. Hang in there, I’m sure you will get your motivation back soon and try to ignore those snarky reviewers.
Glad to hear you’re feeling more yourself. I’ve tried to reason with Fionn about those hygiene issues, but he’s not buying it.
Gorgeous milkweed macros Teresa!!! I invite you to participate in this year’s 5th Annual Gratitude (word) Quilt. Instructions and a link that explains the origins of this project can be found at the top of my blog. In past years there have been participants from every continent except for Antarctica. I hope you’ll join us:-)
Thanks, Laura. I’ll check it out.
So happy you shared these with I Heart Macro Teresa!
Thanks for hosting!
great macro! 🙂
Thanks so much.
Beautiful are your photos!
Greetings, RW & SK
Thanks, Sonnja.
The seeds are gorgeous. I’m sorry about Fionn’s ear.
He’ll probably get to see the vet today (or tomorrow). I am ready for it to be healed. Poor baby.
These milkweed seeds are so beautiful! Wonderful shots!
Haven´t known anything about milkweed but your photos made me look after some facts. So… you made me a little bit more brainy 😉
Glad I could inspire you. They are pretty interesting. I always like having them for the monarch butterflies.
interesting process especially for the last two pictures !
Thanks. Sometimes it’s fun to be creative and play with them.
I love the editing on these, they almost have a feeling of electricity to them
mollyxxx
Thanks. They were really fun to do.
Wonderful capture… they’re ready to sail away! Thank you for coming by sharing your creative photography on the Weekly Top Shot, #107!
Thanks, Madge. 🙂
These photos make me want to go out NOW and photograph some milkweed!
Aren’t they wonderful! Thanks for stopping by.
if only one could just say to oneself, “I need an attitude adjustment” and poof, one is fixed and ready to take on all new challenges. if only… what I needed was an adjustment to my medication…energy is building up. now when I can make small decisions with ease… here’s to prayers for you and me to conquer that hill! blessings.
Thanks. I’ve already made some decisions that have improved my mood. I still have a few more big decisions to think through. Glad the medication change has helped you.
oops! I neglected to tell you- phenomenal shots of milk weed!
Thanks. 🙂
