In All the Wrong Places

27 Nov

For some reason, the colder weather has brought all the ladybugs inside.  Now I keep finding them in all kinds of places they shouldn’t be.  When I was making ravioli over the weekend, here comes one wandering across my counter that I had floured to roll out my dough.

I’m awfully glad I found the little critter before it was rolled into my noodles.

I gave it a bit of a dusting off.

Then I placed it in the oregano plant.  That’s where they belong.

I don’t mind them hanging out in the houseplants.  I found another lucky little ladybug later the same day.  I was washing my hands.

Then I saw I had given a ladybug a shower.

Hmmm…maybe someone was trying to wash off the last of the flour.

Silly bugs are driving me crazy!

It was ten degrees this morning, so I can’t say that I blame them!

I”m glad you found it before it got made into Ravioli filling!

I hear they don’t taste very good. Awfully bitter. 😉

Ten degrees – I am SHUDDERING at the thought!

Wow – a ladybug invasion – that’s the first I’ve heard of that!

Here we have crickets (which the cats LOVE) and ants (which I DETEST!)

Have a wonderful week. I an still chuckling over last week’s Marley antics!

It’s not actually as many as some years, but these are certainly making their presence felt!

We’ve had ladybug invasions before. This year, it was box elder bugs trying to get in out of the cold.

    • Teresa November 27, 2012 at 5:18 pm #

I’ve seen a few box elder bugs, but not too many. They are not as tolerable as the ladybugs.

I’m having a bug problem right now, too, but unfortunately mine is black widow spiders. We renovated our basement this year so we could move my father in law in with us, and wow. Spiders are everywhere all of a sudden. I’m about to give up and call an exterminator, although I’m as afraid of all those chemicals as I am the spiders!

What a horrible choice! I hope you get it figured out.

They come into the Goatmother’s house too. Which is why she named our place ‘Mariquita’. 🙂 Aren’t they cute?

    • Teresa November 27, 2012 at 5:19 pm #

They are cute! I would prefer they stayed out of my cooking though. 🙂

Dropping into my hair, helping me type and making sure my monitor is on, they are driving me nuts as well!

    • Teresa November 27, 2012 at 7:45 pm #

I could handle it if they would stay out of the kitchen and my cooking!

They have certainly made themselves right at home! At least they are cute little nice bugs! 🙂

    • Teresa November 27, 2012 at 7:45 pm #

They are much better than some bugs would be.

It’s that time of year and everything is looking for a place to stay warm and dry. Hugs.

    • Teresa November 27, 2012 at 7:46 pm #

No problems with dry around here! The warm I can see.

This made me smile – my late mother-in-law used to say she knew it was spring when she found scorpions in the shower!!

I take the ladybug (or ladybird as I would say) any day!

    Cheers – Stewart M – Melbourne

I definitely prefer these cute little bugs to scorpions! 🙂

Thanks. Poor thing is lucky I didn’t wash him/her down the drain.
