What has Bob’s Attention

18 Feb

Bob was staring off into the trees.

He found this squirrel fascinating.

Luckily Bob just watched.  No squirrel for supper tonight.

such a gorgeous red on your squirrel! i’d be fascinated, too!

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:30 pm #

Squirrel is lucky it wasn’t the other orange kitty. He doesn’t just watch.

Great squirrel pics….Bob needs to come stay with me for a while….I have squirrels eating the buds off of my pear tree. They did this last year and the pears did not do good at all.

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:31 pm #

What a shame. This squirrel looks pretty fat from all the acorns from the oak trees.

  3. Sharon Qualls February 18, 2012 at 6:37 pm #

Healthy looking squirrel! I suppose squirrel watching to Bob is like tv watching is to us. We get that same look.🙂

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:47 pm #

Probably is. I thought it was a very fat looking squirrel too.

  4. Linda Makiej February 18, 2012 at 6:39 pm #

    Really beautiful SOOC work!!!!

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:47 pm #

Thanks. It was a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy taking pictures.

  5. Alica February 18, 2012 at 6:40 pm #

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red squirrel…ours are plain gray. I guess it was his lucky day!

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:48 pm #

Most of ours here are red. I love those tails! (which is the only part the cats don’t like)

  6. Chai Chai February 18, 2012 at 6:41 pm #

A few squirrels are nice to have around but it is good to have a cat that makes sure a few is ALL you have.

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 6:49 pm #

It was two years ago that we had an entire family (6-8) living in the trees right by the front door. I had the most fun watching them that winter. Payed a lot for dog food too!

  7. Marigold and the Goatmother February 18, 2012 at 6:55 pm #

That is a really fat squirrel, as squirrels go. He must eat well – like Boo. Or maybe he’s just an easy keeper.🙂

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 7:04 pm #

Lots of acorns and dog food.🙂

  8. Lynn February 18, 2012 at 7:11 pm #

Love Bob’s gaze, keeping an eye on that squirrel! Great photos!

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 7:15 pm #

I was grateful because it’s hard to get Bob to sit still.🙂

  9. Amanda February 18, 2012 at 7:32 pm #

Bob is very handsome!! So is the squirrel!! Im glad Bob just watched.🙂

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 7:36 pm #

I have to admit that I really like the squirrels.

  10. Pondside February 18, 2012 at 8:19 pm #

There’s nothing quite like Cat Concentration! The squirrel lives to scamper through another day.

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 8:39 pm #

Bob has a short attention span, so he’s not much of a threat to the squirrels.

  11. Evelyn in Oregon February 18, 2012 at 8:27 pm #

I don’t have any domestic animals, but I do have squirrels…..working regularly on a sunflower seed feeder that’s supposedly squirrel-proof. Ha! In other parts of town, I’ve seen squirrels taunting dogs and cats. Ornery little things.

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 8:40 pm #

They like to tease my old dog. They know he’s too slow to get up and chase them very well anymore.

  12. jewaicious February 18, 2012 at 8:29 pm #

What fantastic captures of the squirrel and cat. I like the tones and textures. Beauties all.

    • Teresa February 18, 2012 at 8:40 pm #

Thanks. It was a beautiful day for taking pictures.

  13. Pat February 18, 2012 at 10:48 pm #

Cute little squirrel! Was he barking at Bob?
Bob is a handsome cat, BTW.

    • Teresa February 19, 2012 at 7:42 am #

The squirrel mostly ignored us. After I put the camera up and came back out, he was barking at me.🙂

  14. Saun in Ohio February 18, 2012 at 10:53 pm #

Poor Bob — being tormented by that rascally squirrel!🙂

    • Teresa February 19, 2012 at 7:45 am #

He deserves it! He’s an ornery Bob.

  20. Janis February 19, 2012 at 7:10 am #

    Lucky squirrel!

    • Teresa February 19, 2012 at 7:46 am #

I do what I can to help them out. It’s the other cat they really have to worry about.

  21. Mommyof2Girlz/StephD February 19, 2012 at 9:40 am #

  22. Ivanhoe February 19, 2012 at 10:07 am #

They don’t come to my backyard anymore. They are scarred of my two dogs🙂

    • Teresa February 19, 2012 at 10:17 am #

They used to be afraid of my dog, but now it’s the other cat they have to worry about.

  23. Christina, Sweden February 19, 2012 at 10:59 am #

great series of shots. I really like the one (5’th ) where the shadow of the branch matched the shape of it’s body

    • Teresa February 19, 2012 at 11:44 am #

Thanks. The little guy was very cooperative!

  24. Cheryl @ Deckside February 19, 2012 at 3:43 pm #

  25. lisa February 19, 2012 at 4:32 pm #

  26. Hootin Anni February 20, 2012 at 5:07 pm #

Oh, when I was a kid [no a young goat, mind you] my parents had goats…and I swear they’ll eat anything!!! One went about eating the car’s interior seat covers in no time flat when mom & dad were emptying grocery sacks from the car and left the doors open. LOL

Loved the images…I really love seeing goats eyes…they’re mesmerizing.

    • Teresa February 20, 2012 at 6:29 pm #

I love their eyes. I do keep mine in the barnyard, so they can’t eat my car or anything. Most times they just sample stuff and tear it apart with their horns.

  27. Hootin Anni February 20, 2012 at 5:07 pm #

NO…should be “not” NOT a young goat.

    • Teresa February 20, 2012 at 6:29 pm #

      I figured you weren’t a young goat.🙂

  28. jen February 21, 2012 at 6:30 am #

    lol… cute
