They’re here! Betty Lou finally had her babies.
The red headed boy in the back has a huge head. I did help with him, but she had the second boy just fine. They are very, very busy boys. She will have her hooves full keeping up with them.
Also here are…
cherries. We picked enough today to do a batch of jam, which I still haven’t done. In a couple of days, there will be a whole lot more. It will give me jam, jelly, and enough for wine.
I’m getting these from my sister’s tree. I got my four little cherry trees, but it’s been too rainy to get them planted, so that is also on my agenda for this week. My second batch of raspberry bushes also arrived.
I’ve kind of given up on Lily being my nice milking nanny. She keeps stomping on my hand. She’s not trying to walk away; she’s trying to stomp on me. Pam is okay to milk, but weaning is so stressful on her that she just quits producing as much. On top of that, I moved her, which also stresses her, so I’m letting her dry up. I’ve found the one that is my next milker. Dolly Ann Street is little with a giant (someone is strangling me) voice, but she is perfectly fine with me milking her.
Isn’t she such a pretty girl posing so nicely. Notice the mud. It’s been quite rainy for the last week. I”m hoping for some sunshine so the kids can come out and play.
I am going to bed, and I’m going to stay there all night!
