Sunday Afternoon

22 Feb

Eight days until the closing on my farm. With the cold snowy weather there isn’t much I can do except wait and think about it. I have seeds planted for the garden, and the plastic on the window of the porch is working wonders for helping it stay warm. I’m working on getting things ready for the kids’ arrival in March. My north lean-to is now covered in tarps to block the wind. My well is working for now–needed to add air to the tank. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of dirt in the water, and I’m afraid it’s going to need new pipes this summer.
The great entertainment for the day was watching a game of “cat and squirrel.” I’m pretty sure the squirrel was having more fun than the cat. Magic was extremely irritated that the squirrel would stay just out of reach. I must say, it was better than any movie. Between the two dogs, at least six squirrels and numerous birds, I am going through an unbelievable amount of dog food.  Another reason I’m ready for spring.
