This Week Scavenger Hunt

The items for Ashley’s scavenger hunt this week are:  walking, yummy to my tummy, favorite toy, what I did this week, and anything.  These all fit together really well to sum up my week.

This morning, as I was feeding my little bottle kid, I noticed how a fog had settled in the bottom.  It really made the pasture look magical.

Then I noticed a hawk on sitting in the trees on the far side of the pasture.  I knew I wouldn’t get very close, but I thought I might get close enough to take a decent picture of it before flying away.  I took off walking across the pasture, still in my pajamas.  Funny thing about hawks around here. They don’t pose.  You get so close, and then they stand, take care of business, and  turn their back to you.

Then they take flight.

Since I had my favorite toy in my hand (my Nikon D3100) and my feet were already soaking wet from walking in the morning dew, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful dewdrops on the grass.

Later in the morning, I noticed the squirrel had come up to get some dog food.  It is certainly yummy to his tummy.  Anyhow, he eats enough of it.

What I did this week,  was to spend as much time in pasture as I could.

Each evening I went out with the goats and llama and just took all kinds of pictures.  It’s especially nice when that big yellow-orange sun is going down and makes the world look beautiful.

Life is good! (Especially since I wasn’t standing under the hawk)

Holiday Greetings

From all of us at Eden Hills, we’d like to wish you a wonderful holiday season, no matter what you might be celebrating this time of year.

As we look back and review 2012, we are grateful for so many wonderful and caring people that we’ve met.

We look forward to a more peaceful and rewarding 2013 and wish the same for you.

Holiday Scavenger Hunt

This week’s Scavenger Hunt Sunday finds are Sparkly, Door, Decorate, Stripes and A Few of My Favorite Things.

Sparkly:  I’ve had a lot of fun playing with decorations and lights this last week.  There’s nothing like playing with Christmas ornaments and lights to get into the spirit of the season.

Door:  This was the hardest picture for me this week.  It’s hard to make a door interesting.  I do like the wreath though.  I made it last year.

Decorate:  I don’t really decorate much for the holidays, but I did get a little miniature tree and put some of my soap boxes under it for effect.

Stripes:  Candy canes are self-explanatory for this one, but I actually bought them for the goats.  Hopefully I’ll get to share how they liked them soon.

A Few of My Favorite Things:  animals, photography, sharing, blogging.  I think all of my pictures would fit for this one.  Leah is always begging for attention.  This little photo shoot might have changed her mind.
