Sunday’s Scavenger Hunt a Bit Late

So now that I’ve had a good night’s sleep, I think I can put together a real post. Yesterday was Scavenger Hunt Sunday, and the topics for this week are: summer, dance, laughter, helper, and water. I’m telling you, some of these were challenging for the farm.

Summer: Nothing says summer like babies.

I found this baby bird sitting in the doorway to the old greenhouse where Betty Lou is staying with her kids.

I love how he/she just sat there completely unconcerned about me. Or maybe it’s grass and allergy season that says summer.

Dance: Not sure what kind of dance it is, but these kids can really bust a move.

Laughter: Their antics always bring laughter.

Helper: I have a couple of goats that have been helping me to clear weeds around the house. Stormy tackled the nettles along the fencerow.

Water: Friday was the Rose Festival in the nearby town where I go for the farmer’s market.

Our farmer’s market on Friday could be summed up in one word~rain.

The little girl’s face says it all. It was not a very good market.

Too Busy for a Real Post

I’m busy chasing after goats and kids. Betty Lou had triplets yesterday.

I’m trying to plant the garden, and I’m only about 1/3 of the way done.

I’m so far behind I’ll never catch up, but I will try as soon as I can.

Helen had her baby today. This does not look like a brand new baby at all. She’s huge!

I think I’ll actually get to sleep all night tonight. That’s a very good thing.

Not Lonely Anymore

Remember my lonely little buff duck? She’s the last duck I had left.

She got a great present today! Three young ducks, almost fully feathered.

There are two anconas and one Cayuga.

They’re a bit nervous yet, but they are checking everything out.

And being checked out by some curious geese.

My little buff girl quickly perked up and started wagging her tail.

Finally, someone that speaks the same language!

Quack. Quack. Quack.
