This week, I had a hard time with the prompts and staying true to the farm. Forgive some of my loose interpretations.
People Watching: There aren’t many people around here to watch, but I have goats watching me all the time. (Hey, I’m a people.) They are mostly watching to see if I’m bringing them any tasty treats, like pumpkin. Yes, I’ve had a pumpkin still sitting in my kitchen.
Recycle: This was easy. Farms are just constantly recycling. From the cornstalks in the field that will break down over the winter to provide nutrients for next year’s crops to the leftovers from my kitchen, recycling is a way of life on the farm.
Of course, it’s most fun to see the pictures of the cute animals eating.
Park: Leo likes to park his butt on the table and just look out the window. Maybe he’s watching the people across the road.
Auto: How did we ever live before we could set the coffeepot to automatically start in the morning.
Basket: Here’s a basket of my goat’s milk soap.
Speaking of soap, did you know the post office is raising its rates again? It’s not bad to pay that extra penny for a letter, but the increase for the flat rate boxes is a little crazy.
That means shipping rates will be going up. If you want to try some goat’s milk soap, I’d order before this rate increase goes into effect.
You can get to my soap page by clicking HERE. Hope you have a great week!

leo’s a handsome fellow.
cannot believe USPS is going up again. they should have just had a more substantial rate increase a year ago…
Jan 19, 2013 @ 15:27:45
It’s a huge increase on the flat rate boxes. Leo is handsome and sweet.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 15:50:35
Leo is really laid back…
Just what we need, another rate hike, I can hardly send anything off anymore for the fun of it. The kids liked getting packages for no reason. Grrr.
SOOC – can be resized just not “messed” with? Cropped or not? I never asked anyone before…
Jan 19, 2013 @ 15:53:00
SOOC shots can be cropped and the watermark put on them. Leo is a pretty sweet guy. He’s not hardly got a brain, but he’s awfully cuddly.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 17:01:26
I guess most of mine are SOOC then, hmm.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 16:02:14
Fantastic post ~ your cat has the most quizzical look on his/her face ~ Great shots!

Jan 19, 2013 @ 16:37:43
It’s not hard to confuse Leo.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 17:13:25
Adore your goat images! Especially love the first cheeky profile of Lily and the photo of the goat eating with back legs higher than the front! So cute! And Leo? Well, Leo is just handsome and seems to know it!
Jan 19, 2013 @ 17:49:22
Thanks for hosting SOOC Sunday! It’s always one of my favorites because I can always find an animal picture or ten to post. Bud did look awfully silly.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 18:17:17
Your goats are excellent recyclers. I love the pictures of Leo.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 18:42:10
Lots of recycling on the farm! The goats love their part in the process, but the geese are actually the most efficient.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 18:46:07
Your goats are amazing. Does the goat milk soap smell good?
Jan 19, 2013 @ 19:06:41
It smells clean unless I add fragrance, and then it smells wonderful!
Jan 19, 2013 @ 19:45:32
what wonderful pics thanks for sharing
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:38:48
Thanks. Sometimes it’s quite a challenge to find those scavenger hunt items on my farm.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 20:08:39
I like your loose interpretations, Teresa. Mine are along the same line. Animal watching can be as entertaining as people watching. lol!
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:40:28
Well, people watching can be a lot of fun, but they don’t often show up out here.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 21:06:54
I love your goat images! They have such fascinating faces. such a colorful array of soaps, I must get some soon, but daggone it, I’ll be paying higher shipping. I have an idea for the post office, cut out Saturday deliveries so postage doesn’t have to go up each year. (or so it seems in recent years)
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:43:52
I think they should charge everyone five dollars and end their free country delivery. But that’s just me. The goats really are so fun to watch with their individual personalities.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 21:37:59
And we watch people for other things too…like Peanuts.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:40:50
Yep! I’m hoping they’ll get apple treats tomorrow if I find the time.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 21:52:04
Your kitty is about as cute as can be! I’m so glad you came by to share on Weekly Top Shot #66!
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:41:10
Thanks. Leo is sweet.
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:10:47
Cute little goats, love their round bellies. Your cat looks very content. Is he Cheshire? he he. Your soap looks good enough to eat! Sorry about the rate hikes. Everything is going up these days. Except everyone’s pay. xx
Jan 19, 2013 @ 23:44:55
Leo is certainly some kind of special kitty. He loves his attention.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 04:43:13
Love the pumpkin goat lips! That was the first thing I ever loved about goats…their wee lips that always look as though they are whispering a secret.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 08:23:23
That is a perfect description for them! They were happy to have a treat.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 06:40:26
I think you did very well! I bet Lily loves watching people.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 08:24:16
Thanks. If you can’t tell, Lily loves when I bring treats out to everyone!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 06:45:25
Excellent photo set for the prompts.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 08:23:42
Thanks. Some days it’s a challenge to find all the prompts on my farm.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 09:11:53
Your soaps are very pretty!! Lovely colors!! The series on a whole is great. Love all the goat shots.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 09:18:14
Thank you. The goats love to participate, especially when it means treats!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 11:22:28
I love the snow white goats – they are as brilliant as the snow, and their expressions are intriguing are priceless…an uncooked pumpkin is a treat for them (not myself though
Ah, postage price are a shame – the revenue may be needed, but hits the profitability some…but your product looks so lovely, so a bit more postage will not deter te discerning buyer. Great post!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 14:08:16
I used to have only white goats, but we have a lot of variety in color now. I am awfully fond of my white Saanens though.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 12:39:27
Wow – you have loads of responses. fabulous shots for this week’s SHS prompts. Leo looks like he rules the window sill. Sort-of smug looking. That soap looks amazing.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 14:08:48
Thanks so much for stopping by. Leo is quite fond of the window sill and watching the birds. Aw, the life of a cat!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 13:06:21
Well who in the world can resist a goat? Not me. I love these shots! I think goats are funny. I know they are a lot of work but they are always into something and that’s funny!
Happy hunting next week!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 14:09:16
The goats really are a lot of fun to have around, such comedians.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 17:21:50
Love the goats and cute Leo! Wonderful collection of photos for your photo hunt.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 18:06:01
Thanks. It’s awfully hard to find some search items around the farm!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 17:28:17
I gave the soap away as gifts and the receivers loved it. Thank you!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 18:06:28
Glad to hear they liked it!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 17:53:51
Great shots, they look so cute. Have a great week:)
Jan 20, 2013 @ 18:07:34
They are adorable! I just love my goats!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 18:27:40
Love your mosaics and your soap looks wonderful! I’ll go and look again! Happy Monday!
Jan 20, 2013 @ 18:32:26
Thanks. The goats are always a favorite for me to photograph.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:03:51
Having a farm is being amused by all the critters and their funny characteristics. Valerie
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:06:04
They certainly do bring joy and love to my home.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:24:18
Most of the photos didn’t automatically open in my window, i don’t know if it’s my connection or the pictures are very large! By the way, do you notice that goats faces are normally sad? That is how ours are, but yours seem to be lonely too despite those lots of food. I didn’t know they eat pumpkins, but ours also eat mangoes, because that is what we have a lot of when in season.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:28:51
Sorry the pictures didn’t open. I’ve not heard that from anyone before. I really wouldn’t hardly ever say that my goats look sad. They are usually quite happy and smiley.
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:40:21
I always look forward to what you will share about the goats. We should all try to repurpose more in our homes to recycle as efficiently as you do on your farm.
Judith
Jan 20, 2013 @ 19:49:08
Farms are just naturally set up for using those scraps. The birds also love my leftover bits of veggies.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 06:02:29
Love your interpretations for the week, especially recycle and people watching!
Dang USPS anyway! They keep raising rates and then wonder why nobody uses them anymore! Grrrr…
Jan 21, 2013 @ 07:20:34
I do understand the need with so many people using e-mail these days, but they don’t seem to be very good at running a business either.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 06:18:53
What a fun post! Goats and pumpkins and kitties … sounds purrfect to me!
Jan 21, 2013 @ 07:21:31
Thanks! They really do enjoy their treats, and Leo is just a big sweet lug.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 06:19:31
PS … you note I ignored the increase of rates at the post office …. ptuiiiii………!!!!
Jan 21, 2013 @ 07:21:40
Jan 21, 2013 @ 07:18:22

Jan 21, 2013 @ 07:22:23
Thanks so much. Leo was very much enjoying his spot looking out the window.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:14:11
I like the colors and textures in the soaps.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:16:48
Thanks. I like the fragrance too, but that’s hard to get in a photo.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:36:52
Leo has the life…great series of photos around the farm
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:46:42
Thanks. I do believe Leo is very happy to have joined the family and live this life of leisure.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:50:22
Love all the photos, but especially the ones of your soaps – such pretty colors and I bet they smell fantastic!
Jan 21, 2013 @ 09:59:47
The room I store them in is a bit overpowering at times!
Jan 21, 2013 @ 12:30:07
Beautiful shots of your animals. The soaps are very pretty too.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 12:46:19
Thanks. The animals are always my favorite subjects.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 13:45:46
Leo seems to be very calm… et the soaps have beautiful look.
Jan 21, 2013 @ 13:56:34
Leo is a very mellow dude!
Jan 22, 2013 @ 15:24:20
Lovely images, and the goats and cats…too cute, but the soaps…I love Goat’s milk soaps and have several bars, mostly in Lavender frangrances. Silk and smooth washing~
Jan 22, 2013 @ 15:32:05
I love the goat’s milk soap too. I don’t ever want to go back to buying soap.
Jan 27, 2013 @ 11:19:06
Is Leo the mouser?
Jan 27, 2013 @ 14:19:52
All of my cats are good hunters. It just depends on the day.
