Our first possible snowstorm is on the horizon. We might get a decent amount Wednesday night and into Thursday. I figured we’d better get the Ranger ready. You might remember I got a snowplow for it last winter, and I’ve still not used it!
Snickers volunteered to drive up to the shed, but I declined his offer.
The boy came and we went to the north shed where the blade was in storage with Artie, the gravity wagon.
We got it put on.
Now, I just have to hope for a lot of snow, a two-hour delay at work and the good sense to figure out how the hydraulic joystick thingy works.
I’m ready for winter. Bring on the cold and snow!

It looks quiet cold when I see how the boy is dressed ! Snikers has anyway a furcoat. Here it’s warmer again, I suppose we will have rain for Christmas !
We had rain over the weekend, and we’re hovering around the freezing mark now. It’s supposed to be cold and snow by Wednesday. I truly am hoping for a real winter this year.
It looks like a rather chilly day in your world without the snowstorm! This is the first time I have seen a snowplow ,like this! Fascinating photos!
Hopefully I’ll get to show some before and after snowy pictures soon! Thanks for stopping by.
Wee hooo! What a nifty piece of equipment. It’s nice to be prepared! If you get snow now we might see it in about four days… heh heh heh… I’d better gas up the snow blower and dig out the shovels!
If there is any left over moisture, I’m sure it will be heading your way after it visits Alicia in PA. You guys can just visit me to know what your weather will be like. 🙂
That is great heavy equip, ent. Tu are ready for snow I can see.
I am ready for snow and winter! We didn’t really have one at all last year.
how exciting … sure hope you get some snowy snow…. wish some would fall here in VA. i wish for a white Christmas. ( :
We really could have a white Christmas now. Of course, I’m thinking big picture and moisture and killing temps for all those nasty bacteria.
*Vroom-vroom!*
*beep-beep!
😀
It doesn’t have a horn! Caleb has offered to put one on it for me!
Snow is good for crops I guess but not good for people and animals who have to get out in it. Be safe.
Actually, we need the cold to help cut back on the number of bacteria and allergens in the air. It’s been a horrible health year for people and animals. I’m excited for a real winter!
Can you clear all this snow off my desk that keeps falling from the screen?
That will clear naturally on Jan. 5th. 🙂
This Ranger snowplow is amazing – I’d love to have one to clear out our short two-car drive in nit all that snowy southern Connecticut. This 4WD device looks so versatile in design and the red paint looks so cool! The weather extremes in Iowa have to be dramatic from stifling heat and blowing snows – a farmer has to be prepared…
I LOVE my Ranger. It was the best purchase I made after the farm itself. 🙂 I’m hoping the plow works well, but I haven’t had a chance to use it…yet!
It must be nice to have a big plow like that to plow your driveway, etc. My daughter drove up to Aspen Co today for a business meeting and she heard that area was expecting a big 40 inch snowfall Winter is definitely on it’s way.
I bought it last December, and we haven’t had a snow for me to use it yet. This will be the first time, so I’m excited!
Oh I’ll bet you’ll have fun with that! 🙂
I hope so! I’m hoping for a delay to work so I have time to use it!
hard to believe it is that time already again!
It was almost a year ago exactly that I finally got the plow! It is hard to believe it’s that time of year again.
It’s always good to be prepared. Happy RT2.

Thanks for stopping by.
Yikes, that looks like a whole lot of work. I hope it’s easier to use than it is to assemble.
It really isn’t too bad to get it on. I’m guessing it’s not too hard to use if you know what you’re doing. That will be my problem since I’ve never used it.
I have my fingers crossed that you get enough snow to try it out and a good enough winter to get rid of all the nasties in the soil and the air!
Thank you! That’s my wish too!
Well that’s cool! I didn’t know they made attachments for six wheelers like that. I hope you get plenty of snow!
I know they make them for four-wheelers and the Ranger. I guess they do for six-wheelers too.
I think you need MiMi to come and drive it for you. On the other hand, I think she might find it just a bit TOO enjoyable and may tend to take out things other than snow. I’m just sayin’ … 🙂
I might trust her in the driveway, but I’m pretty sure she’d be after geese in the barnyard. Just sayin’…
OMG — I am so glad here in Central TX we do not have to prepare like this …. however, when we do get wintry weather, everything comes to a screeching halt, as no one knows how to drive in it! Merry Christmas!!!
I’m really looking forward to learning how to use this plow. It will certainly beat the hand shoveling I’ve been doing.
It looks cold. Here, we have warm days..Beautiful photos.
It’s not been too cold, but that’s all changing right now. 🙂
