Acrobatic Squirrel

When I stepped out the front door, I noticed a squirrel.  By the time I realized what s/he was carrying, s/he was up in the top of the trees.

The whole apple that s/he didn’t drop really had me impressed.

It was an amazing acrobatic feat!

Finally the little daredevil made it into the crack of the tree.

Home sweet home!

This is the first I’ve seen them do that. Usually they just sit in the tree and eat on the apples and peaches, but this one had been lying in the front yard.

Super lucky to be there for those amazing shots!
I had a squirrel steal a pear once and had it up in the tree, nothing as great as your fearless creature though!

They truly are amazing! How they can keep their balance when they are carrying something so big is astounding!

I’m guessing with the drought and lack of acorns on my oak trees, I’ll have plenty of squirrel photo ops as they eat dog food on my deck. That’s always fun!

What an amazing feat! You’d think he’d at least be thrown off balance by that huge apple. Nice captures of the action.

Thanks. I couldn’t believe s/he didn’t just stop at the first branch and munch on it. Not sure how well it will store for later in the winter!
